Estral Esports’ Summit Suspended Following LTA North Ghosting Accusations

On October 6, 2025, the toplaner for Estral Esports‘ League of Legends team, Park “Summit” Woo-tae has been provisionally suspended as there is an ongoing investigation into cheating accusations.

Summit was caught “ghosting” during a two-hour pause in a match against Disguised Esports, which came about due to DDoS attacks in the LTA North.

Due to the DDoS attacks, the best-of-five match between Estral Esports and Disguised Esports is set to continue on Tuesday, October 7 at 1PM PT / 4PM ET.

What is Ghosting?

Summit has been accused of Ghosting, which, in esports terms, means that he was watching footage of the opponent’s gameplay from their vantage point, allowing him to gain an unfair advantage by understanding the opponent’s playstyle.

While this is devastating news for Estral Esports, especially mid competition, LTA North has stated that the team “will be permitted to field a substitute player from their existing roster in the interim.”

Estral Esports Statement

Following the suspension of Summit, Estral Esports made a statement regarding the situation:

“We understand the frustration and outrage this situation has caused, and we fully share your feelings. Our series faced significant technical challenges, including DDoS attacks on Riot’s servers, which resulted in a pause of more than two hours without a clear solution or effective communication from the on-site officials.

“We acknowledge that, amid the uncertainty, our player made a mistake by watching a stream during the pause. However, there was no bad faith or intent to gain an advantage. It was an unfortunate action that stemmed from an unsustainable situation. We believe this sanction imposed is disproportionate and overly severe. The penalty fails to take into account the human factor of having seven people (players and staff) waiting in front of a computer for more than five hours, without movement or solutions.

They concluded by stating that they have filed a formal complaint with the league, although there is no indication of how long it may take for that to be finalized.

Summit himself has yet to comment on the situation.
