LoL Patch 13.20 – What changes are coming?

Patch 13.19 is officially out and it will be the Worlds Patch. It had some pro-play focused changes as Riot hopes to have a balanced state at their biggest tournament of the year, so not many buffs and nerfs were made.

That being said, Patch 13.20 is already building up to be an immense meta shifter. According to game designer Riot Phroxzon, we are getting a major K’Sante rework, as well as important runes, dragons, and jungle changes. Additionally, Riot is also tweaking up the Doran starting items, as well as the support items, giving them more power but taking off the possibility to stack them. You can check out the tentative changes in the section below.

The LoL patch 13.20 release date is October 11th 2023.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

There are a lot of adjustments coming in, especially on some of the fundamental aspects of the game. The most notable one is without a doubt the jungle changes: camps become a lot tankier and neutral objectives will be less powerful across the board. All dragons have been nerfed, which should theoretically reduce the bot lane-centric meta that plagued the game for years.

Junglers should also have less impact early on, as Riot has been looking to tune down their overall agency. Turret plate gold has gone down as well, further reducing the snowballing power in the game. Overall, we should expect a slower game pace compared to the past, favoring the rise of scaling picks. It’s still a bit early to judge, but this feels like the general direction the game will have.

Upcoming skins

Coven Akali – 1350 RP

  • They came to Akali encircling from the tree canopy at an impossible speed, their taunts leading her deeper still into the Elderwood until at last she was lost. Then a voice whispered the choice right into her ear: die in these woods alone or emerge in their charge.

Coven Akali Prestige Edition – 1350 RP

  • Arriving clad in a bold and sporty body suit, Akali’s gala attire has us all spellbound. Subversive and on the cutting edge of fashion, she’s fierce and redefines how we think of the wicked witch of the woods. And so she walked out of the woods… straight into the arms of the Coven

Coven Elise – 1350 RP

  • They came to Elise long ago, crawling through the underbrush, their many eyes locked with hers as a deal was made. The unfathomable powers of an Old God for her devotion and humanity. Reborn in the image of an arachnoid deity, Elise lingers along the edges of the Elderwood, enticing to their doom all those foolish enough to believe her a mere folktale.

Coven Nami – 1820 RP

  • They called to Nami from the deep, their voice carrying a promise of power greater than any she had ever known. All Nami needed to do was feed it. She has now forsaken her oaths, her coven, spending endless nights lurking just below the murky waterways of the Elderwood in search of her next sacrifice to the Leviathan.

Coven Nilah – 1350 RP

  • They came to Nilah in a cacophony of cracking brambles and bone, offering unbridled talents in exchange for her loyalty. She obliged by filling a vessel with the deep crimson that dripped from the thorns. She now carries with her this godly relic along with the knowledge that she is destined for more than this coven can ever give.

Coven Syndra – 1350 RP

  • They came to Syndra in a thundering flutter of carrion wings, beckoning her to free herself from the limitations of mortals. Following the wings’ foul wind to a ritual site, she along with another witch awakened the Horned King from his putrid tomb. She now seeks retribution against all who stand against the Coven or the Old Gods.

Old God Mordekaiser

  • Once known as the Horned King, Old God Mordekaiser turned that which was once dead to his cause, using their shambling forms to topple kingdoms and claim their lands as his own. Before he was slain by the Eclipse Knights, he swore that when he returned to this world, they would all bend to his will and take to the frontlines of his undead army.
