Mikyx Leaves Fnatic Just Days After Getting Knocked Out of Worlds 2025
Fnatic’s League of Legends team has been in dire straits in the tail end of 2025, with them just barely qualifying for Worlds over KCorp. Now, just days after they got knocked out of Worlds 2025 contention, support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle has already left the team.
Mikyx was brought onto the team at the start of the year with a contract that extended all the way through 2026, with the team having full faith in his ability to turn things around. After all, Miky’s been on some of the best rosters in Europe’s history, particularly during his time with G2.
And, though Fnatic is technically still near the top of Europe, the team is unsatisfied with their results and clearly a step below other strong European teams. This led to a public fallout amongst staff members and players, with many wondering who will be left next year.
However, roster news arrived earlier than anyone had expected. In a sudden announcement from Fnatic, it was revealed that Mikyx is already leaving and that the agreement is mutual.
Mikyx Back on LEC Market as Top-Tier Support
With the off-season just getting started ahead of 2026, LEC teams were waiting with bated breath to see who out of the teams that went to Worlds 2025 would be making roster swaps.
Fnatic, in particular, was a hard team to predict, seeing as they’d already swapped out their mid laner earlier this year and clearly had some synergy issues that were holding them back.
What’s more, staff members like analyst Gaax have gone on the record saying that not everyone in the team was pulling their weight equally.
It isn’t surprising that there are roster changes, but it is surprising how fast Mikyx left the team. Fnatic co-owner Patrik Sattermon had more information to provide on the topic, stating that it was a mutual split and that they’re “exploring all possible options” at this point to try to right the ship in 2026.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Miky this year, and have him back in Fnatic. After discussing his future together, we’ve decided to let him freely explore his options for 2026 and build a team which better fits his vision and goals,” Sattermon explained.
This is especially significant considering Mikyx was signed with the team through 2026. With them letting him go as a free agent, they forgo any money they could have made on a contract buyout. This is the best outcome Miky could have hoped for other than making things work out on Fnatic.
Fortunately for LEC fans, there’s still a team to root for at Worlds now that G2 have guaranteed their spot in the quarterfinals.
