Spica – the last piece to the puzzle for Dignitas
According to a report by Sheep Esports, Spica will be joining Team Dignitas for the second part of the season, joining forces with a team full of veterans, including former Golden Guardians player Licorice and former Cloud9 player Zven.
Spica previously played for FlyQuest last year, in what was supposed to be a lineup capable of qualifying for Worlds, considering the presence of LCK imports such as VicLa and Prince. Unfortunately, FLY had a major underperformance in 2023 Summer, finishing at the bottom of the standings in 9th place. At the end of last year, he took a break from competitive and became a content creator for FlyQuest.
Compared to Spring, Dignitas has made what should be on paper major upgrades to its roster. The team finished in the top six last split with what was considered a weak lineup, so expectations will be much higher with the newly formed roster.
Exyu gets the short end of the stick
Unfortunately, with Spica joining DIG, jungle player Exyu has officially announced his departure from the team. Earlier today, he explained on X how he was told less than two weeks ago he would be on the starting roster for Summer. That is no longer the case, as he has left the spot to Spica.
In the following tweets, Exyu mentioned he will be returning to Berkeley in the fall and looking for other opportunities for the upcoming spring split. In the meanwhile, he’s likely going to join an NACL team.
