When does LoL Arena come back?

Arena has become a breath of fresh air for League of Legends players. Although it also shares a competitive aspect, it provides much more entertainment than the generic Summoner’s Rift experience. But when does LoL Arena come back to League of Legends?

Can you currently play LoL Arena?

The answer is yes! At the time of writing, players can still queue up for the LoL Arena map and play it.

The mode has increased from eight players to sixteen (double the fun!), along with new maps, augments, items, and more. Despite some problems along the way, specifically with the Koi Pond map, the change to sixteen players had a positive feedback from the League of Legends players.

The plan for Arena is to be available throughout the second ranked split, which will put us mainly through the majority of 2024, if not more, with last season ranked split two ending on January 9.

Riot is constantly making changes to the mode, which should show the developers’ faith in it. Many changes are continually coming on the PBE (Public Beta Environment).

Patch 14.14 will be a massive patch for Arena, with new items, augments, and more on the way.

Arena is unlike traditional League of Legends in the way it is played. It requires champion tweaks that are different from the usual 5v5 gameplay we are accustomed to, so it’s sometimes tricky for Riot to get everything right immediately, which is why the PBE has been an excellent tool for the developers as they iron out the problems before an eventual release.

For anyone concerned that Arena is going away soon, do not fear; Riot is already planning ahead for Patch 14.15, where the infamous Koi Pond map could see some potential changes, which will be a delight to the Arena community.
