BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season 3 set to begin on July 19

It does feel like the craze for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) isn’t slowing down this year. Since the game was relaunched in 2023, many events and LAN tournaments have happened. One of India’s most prominent tournament organizations, Nodwin Gaming, has just announced the third season of their popular tournament, the BGMI Masters Series (BGMS). Here’s everything you need to know about the BGMS Season 3.

BGMS Season 3: Back on Star Sports

Battlegrounds Masters Series, or BGMS, is one of India’s most popular tournament IPs. BGMS season 1 was quite a revolutionary event as it was the first time an esports title was shown on cable television. As a result, fans of the game could watch it on television with their families for the first time. This year’s format is different from past iterations of BGMS. Twenty-four teams will participate in this BGMI tournament, which will take place between July 19 and August 11, two weeks after the completion of BGIS 2024.

In the past, we have seen Nodwin tweak the tournament rules to make them more entertaining. During the 2023 edition of the event, teams received double finish points if they got any kills during the match’s first five minutes. This resulted in teams displaying more aggression than in official events like BMPS and BGIS 2023. This season will also have the new points system for BGMI Esports introduced earlier this year.

History and Past Winners

During the first season of the BGMS, Global Esports won the event in an incredible fashion. Currently, most of that same roster is part of IQOOSoul with the addition of Spower. In the past, this roster has also won the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2023.

During the second season of the event, Gladiator Esports won the event in a close affair, with Orangutan Esports finishing second by a difference of a mere single point. During the second season, Gladiator Esports won Rupees 1 Crore ($119,860), with Justin winning the season MVP of the tournament. With BGIS around the corner, it will be interesting to see which team wins BGIS. If they do, only time will tell if they can carry forward the momentum going into BGMS Season 3.
