Brawl Stars just dropped a new round of balance changes on April 30, and it’s pretty packed. Alongside the big “Battle for Katana Kingdom” season that’s kicking off, Supercell pushed a bunch of buffs, nerfs, and fixes in a quick maintenance break.

Some fan-favorite Brawlers got a big glow-up, while others got toned down a bit because—let’s be honest—some were getting out of hand. Let’s go over what’s changed and what it might mean for the meta moving forward.

All Brawl Stars Balance Changes for May 2025

Buffs

  • Crow: Heal reduction increased from 40% to 60%, strengthening his zone control in game modes like Brawl Ball. Now this Best Build for Crow becomes even more effective.
  • Bonnie: Now can immediately reuse her Super upon landing to return to her cannon, Clyde, enabling faster hit-and-run plays.
  • Mico: Main attack reload speed improved from 2600 ms to 2400 ms, tightening her burst window.
  • Jessie: Health raised from 3000 to 3100, enhancing turret durability in maps like Hot Zone and Siege.
  • Willow: Health bumped from 2800 to 3100, reinforcing her frontline role.
  • Pam: Main attack damage up from 260 to 300, making her healing turret safer to deploy under fire.
  • Meg: Out-of-mecha movement speed increased from 770 to 820, allowing quicker repositioning before remounting.

Nerfs

  • Lumi: Health decreased from 3000 to 2800; both Gadgets (Grim and Frostbitten) cooldown extended from 18 s to 22 s, curbing her crowd-control uptime.
  • Bea: Rattled Hive Gadget cooldown increased from 20 s to 24 s, reducing her area-denial consistency.
  • Ollie: Health trimmed from 5600 to 5300, slightly softening his tank profile.
  • Carl: Heat Ejector Gadget damage lowered from 370 to 300, limiting his burst after tunneling.
  • Buster: Base health reduced from 5000 to 4800, tuning down his frontline resilience.
  • Chester: Hypercharge charge rate cut from 30 to 25, delaying his ultimate readiness.
  • Meeple: Main attack damage decreased from 1300 to 1200, lowering his one-shot threat.
  • Angelo: Master Fletcher Gadget cooldown increased from 14 s to 18 s, slowing his burst enablement.
  • Gray: Walking Cane Gadget cooldown lengthened from 20 s to 23 s, reducing his mobility spikes.
  • Mandy: Hypercharge charge rate down from 40 to 35, moderating her zoning ultimate power.
  • Stu: Hypercharge charge rate cut from 3 to 2, hampering his rapid-fire combos.
  • Byron: Booster Shots Gadget cooldown raised from 14 s to 18 s, limiting his support uptime.

Fixes

  • Melodie restored to correct height after a visual glitch.
  • Patched a bug blocking Gadget selection for free max-level Brawlers in Ranked if already owned.
  • Penny’s second projectile now properly tracks enemies.
  • Lumi’s basic attack no longer stalls with Quickfire modifiers.
  • Mega Pig reliably delivers rewards again.
  • Jae-yong’s voiceover playback issue fixed. Now, you’ll enjoy donning Jae-yong’s best build even more.
  • Resolved visual problems for Squeak, Nita, and Eve on some low-end Android devices

Basically, Supercell’s trying to flatten the power curve a bit. A lot of the nerfs are focused on overpicked Brawlers and Gadget spam, while buffs are lifting characters that kind of fell out of favor.
