Supercell, the Finnish developer behind one of the world’s most popular games, has revealed an engaging anime theme for the game’s 12th anniversary. Here’s what you need to know about it.

Clash of Clans is one of the oldest games by Supercell and can be largely credited to the studio’s huge success. The game was launched on Aug. 2, 2012, a time when smartphones were starting to be picked up but were still vastly different from the devices we use today in terms of specifications.
Nonetheless, with constant updates and community engagement, the developer has been able to keep Clash of Clans’ player count high even 12 years later.
Every year, around August, Supercell releases exciting anniversary-based content in Clash of Clans to celebrate the game’s birthday. This time, the theme is set to be very different with the ‘anime season’ coming to the game.
The developer has released a graphic of how the game’s characters will look like if they were in anime, and the graphic shows them battling in the true Japanese animation style.
Not much has been revealed about what’s in store for fans, however. Supercell has said that there will be anime-themed cosmetics, events, prizes, and also temporary troops as a part of this event.
Thus, fans can expect to see their favorite characters hone a new anime-based skin.
While you wait around for the Anime Season to launch in Clash of Clans, there is already an event going on in the game to mark the anniversary. The Building Bonanza Event lets you upgrade your constructions in the game more rapidly.
As a part of this, to mark 12 years of the game’s existence, Supercell has given a generous 12 percent boost to building time. However, the length of this boost depends on the players. Players need to donate troops to increase the length of the Building Bonanza Event, to a total of 29 days.
Currently, the event has been extended by 12 days starting Aug. 2.
