Games like Mobile Legends (MLBB): Top Alternatives
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is one of the most popular mobile games out there. Since its release in 2016, the MOBA title has accumulated over 1 billion downloads on Android and iOS. But, if you are looking to test something else out and are wondering if there are other games like MLBB, we’ve got you covered.
While MLBB is a great game, it’s still a very competitive title and has more than 100 heroes, making it very tough for new players looking to enter the title.
If you are looking for a new game to check out, or just a more casual title to put your hours in, Esports.net has got you covered with four alternatives to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).
1. League of Legends: Wild Rift
The game most similar to MLBB is undoubtedly Wild Rift, the mobile version of the popular MOBA by Riot Games, League of Legends. The games are so similar that Riot even filed a copyright lawsuit against the developers of MLBB, the China-based MOONTON.
Wild Rift was released in 2020 and has brought a toned-down version of the original League of Legends for mobile devices. The game has a smaller map, some different heroes, and abilities tailored for mobile. It’s basically a MOBA title built ground-up for mobile but based on League of Legends.
However, while Wild Rift is an immensely fun game to play, it has still struggled with competing against the popularity of rival MOBA titles like MLBB. So much so, that Riot announced last year that it was pulling the plug on Wild Rift esports in the West. For a competitive MOBA title like Wild Rift, having a developed esports scene is crucial for the marketing of the game and keeping the player base active.
Nonetheless, the game is still very fun to play and gets regular content updates. It has a huge number of players, features 5v5 action across the traditional three-lane map, and has short queue times as well.
2. Honor of Kings
Honor of Kings may have been released globally only recently, but it has a rich history. This is because it has been available in China for years, where it has become one of the most played games globally with over 100 million daily active users.
The game features the traditional three-lane map, but with a long history is a very balanced title with a wide variety of champions for players to enjoy.
Additionally, Level Infinite, the game’s publisher is investing heavily into esports if you are a hardcore gamer. The roadmap for 2025 has already been announced with numerous events. Additionally, Honor of Kings has a three-year partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation.
3. Pokemon UNITE
Next up on the list of games like MLBB is Pokemon UNITE. If you are someone who doesn’t like the hardcore gameplay the other MOBAs on this list provide, Pokemon UNITE might be the game for you.
The game is a MOBA but has a completely different mechanical system. The 5v5 map has two lanes and you must score goals in your opponent’s area to secure the win. Each match lasts 10 minutes and has a countdown to ensure the game doesn’t extend beyond that.
While it may have an easier entry-level than other MOBA titles, it’s still highly competitive and fun to play. If you are going to be just starting out, check out our Pokemon UNITE tier list.
4. Onmyoji Arena

Last up, we have Onmyoji Arena by NetEase Games. It’s not a new title but it hasn’t managed to become as popular as MLBB. Nonetheless, with a rich history, constant updates, and many heroes – it’s one of the best games like MLBB. You can download it through the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.
Additionally, one of the game’s unique points is that it doesn’t have a rune system. These have often been called pay-to-win because players can purchase runes in other MOBA titles to empower their heroes. With Onmyoji Arena not using this system, the game positions itself as a balanced mobile MOBA.
