
Genshin Impact unveils The Prince Cup 2024 with $120K Prize Pool
HoYoverse announced the Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup for Genshin Impact in 2024 with an all-new, updated tournament system. In that season, players were divided into Atlantic and Pacific Regional Tournaments and faced off in these tournaments against elite players from other regions. All the players competed for the championship title and a total prize pool of 60,000 USD per region.

The wild card competition started on April 26, 2024, and ran until April 28, 2024. The top 8 players from the wild card matches advanced to the regular tournament, where they joined the top 24 players from the Cat’s Tail Gathering Tournament. The regular tournament took place from May to June 2024, and the top 8 players from this stage moved on to the elimination phase.
The elimination phase, featuring the top 8 players, was held in July 2024. This phase used a double-elimination bracket, culminating in a best-of-seven final to determine the ultimate champion.
The Atlantic region’s champion was LumineStar, who showcased exceptional skill and strategy throughout the tournament. The Pacific region’s champion was AetherMaster, who impressed both fans and competitors with their gameplay.
The prize distribution for each region was as follows:
- 1st Place: 16,000 USD
- 2nd Place: 8,000 USD
- 3rd Place: 5,000 USD
- 4th Place: 3,800 USD
- 5th-6th Place: 2,400 USD each
- 7th-8th Place: 1,600 USD each
- 9th-16th Place: 1,200 USD each
- 17th-32nd Place: 600 USD each
