Is Honkai Star Rail multiplayer? Well, first of all, what exactly is Honkai Star? Honkai Star Rail is an action role-playing game. It’s based on the popular Honkai Impact universe and set in a galaxy where different characters travel through an express that takes them to a myriad of worlds.
Each Honkai Star Rail character has their levels to reach, along with their weapons and attacks that help them explore and solve the challenges of the different worlds. All of this makes for a game that’s a lot of fun. But does it have a multiplayer mode that allows for sharing and interaction between characters?

Unfortunately not. At least not in the traditional sense where two players on the other side of the world can connect and at the same time fight side by side.
However, it does have a system for connecting different players through visits or loans.
Honkai: Star Rail doesn’t have a traditional multiplayer mode. You can’t play with other players in real-time, like in Genshin Impact, another HoYoverse game.
Instead, Honkai: Star Rail has a support mode. This consists of borrowing a support character from a friend or a random player and using it on your team for a limited time.
The support character is the character that each player chooses to share with others. It can be configured in the Trailblazer profile. You can choose the best from the Honkai Star Rail tier list!
To share your character you just have to:
Character’s with this role can be borrowed for use in different missions and modes such as the Corrosion Caverns.
Even if you can’t play with friends at the same time, you can count on their support when exploring and fighting in different worlds and situations and thus earn different rewards.
One thing to note, however, is that this borrowed support character will be adjusted to the level of the player using it. You can’t abuse high-level characters from friends to make the game easier.
The supporting character can provide a great strategic advantage. They can have a different elemental affinity, category or role than the player, which combined can help them overcome obstacles and challenges.
One of the benefits of this support mode is that both the main player and the owner of the borrowed character receive credits and jades when they are victorious.

These in-game coins can also be used to purchase and upgrade characters and equipment. It’s an excellent incentive for players to share and make friends through visits and loans.
But it’s still not a multiplayer mode. This can make the game a bit limited and boring as you can’t play with friends in real-time and enjoy adventures and challenges together.
To this day, it is not known if HoYoverse plans to add a traditional co-op mode as such or if this support mode will remain the only way to interact between players in Honkai Star Rail. But stay tuned as we are up-to-date with the Honkai Star Rail leaks to see what the future holds.
Whatever their choice, it is expected to contribute to the game’s popularity and player welfare. Remember: despite not having a multiplayer mode, the game is one of excellent quality and has many benefits to enjoy.
