Q9 shows why China is the CoD Mobile king at the Mobile Masters 2024
Qing Jiu Club, commonly known as Q9, are the champions of the Snapdragon Mobile Masters 2024, following a dominant performance over the course of the CoD Mobile esports tournament.
Held at the Komplexo Tempo in São Paulo, Brazil, from April 12-13, the $200,000 event featured eight teams from around the world competing for the title. These teams had qualified through regional Snapdragon Pro Series tournaments in different parts of the world.

As the region with the reigning world champions, China’s Q9 were the favorites heading into the tournament – and they lived up to those expectations. In the group stage, they lost just one game to the home team, Galorys Company, while securing comfortable 3-0 victories in their other two games.
They maintained this momentum into the playoffs, outmaneuvering North America’s formidable Seminal in the semifinals, setting up a rematch against Galorys in the grand finals. This time, though, Q9 were well-prepared and avenged their earlier loss to the home squad with a dominant 4-0 win.

Can anyone defeat China?
With this victory, Q9 has established China as the strongest region in CoD Mobile esports. While CoD Mobile was released globally in October 2019, a localized Chinese version was launched almost a year later, in December 2020. The following 2021 World Championship, however, was split into East and West regions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the first full CoD Mobile World Championship with China took place in 2022 in the U.S.
China is known for its dominance in mobile esports, but in the 2022 CoD Mobile World Championship, they weren’t up to the mark. Wolves and Q9 were the two Chinese teams in the competition. While Q9 failed to advance beyond the group stage, Wolves reached the Lower Bracket Semifinals before losing to the eventual champions from North America, Tribe Gaming.

Since then, the Chinese CoD Mobile esports ecosystem has grown significantly, with year-long events through the China Masters. As a result, the region made a strong comeback in the 2023 World Championship. This time, Wolves cruised through the teams to become the world champions.
For those doubting China’s potential in CoD Mobile esports, Q9’s performance at the Snapdragon Mobile Masters has certainly silenced them.
