Getting this status helps players keep their trophies even if they lose a match when teamed up with players who have a higher trophy count. You can obtain this status only when you are playing 3v3.

If you do get the Underdog Status in Brawl Stars, the game will reward you with a lot of free gifts. However, you have to keep these tips in mind.
If you are playing with your friends, the system will detect that you are doing this deliberately to get the title. So, if you are chasing the title, try to focus on random match making only. This increases your chances of getting the Underdog title.
If you play with new Brawlers, there are high chances that the game will put you in trios that have a bigger trophy count, based on the Brawlers that they have.
If you do plan to play with your friends, the match making puts you against enemies that have more Brawler strength. This is likely to put your team in a less experienced zone. This could then give you the Underdog title. However, it is mandatory that the trophy difference is 150 trophies. If it is less than that, you will not be eligible.
If you keep in mind all of these points, the game is likely to award you the coveted Underdog Status in the match.
