VALORANT Champions 2024 is taking in Seoul, South Korea. The top teams from all the 4 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Leagues are participating in this event. VALORANT Champions 2024 started with the group stage phase. Within this, each group consisted of 4 teams. Each group had one team from each of the 4 VCT Leagues. Following a double-bracket format, the top 2 teams from each group would qualify for the playoffs phase. Below is a list of the eight teams that qualify:
Following the final group stage match, the incredible Paper Rex vs. EDward Gaming face-off, VALORANT hosted the draw for the playoffs. There were two bowls of spheres with the team names within them. One bowl was for the #1 seed of the group, and the other was for the #2 seed. VALORANT Champions 2024 playoffs are slated to begin on the 14th of August. Since the start of the VALORANT Champions Tour, DRX and Sentinels have been two teams with a lot of history. DRX was the team to beat from the VCT Pacific region. On the other hand, Sentinels were the winners of the first-ever VCT Masters. This year, these two teams have been on quite distant paths. Sentinels started strong and won the VCT Masters Madrid.
DRX changed its roster quite a bit to add new talents. This will be the first time these two teams will face off during the official VCT season.

Trace Esports and EDward Gaming have already faced each other six times. EDward Gaming won five games out of those past fixtures. This matchup is the first time the two teams face off during an international tournament.
