Some can be purchased to be used at the start of the run, and others you collect while running to use for a short period of time. You can upgrade some power ups to make them more effective or last longer. Coin Magnet
The Coin Magnet attracts all nearby coins without needing to dodge to collect them. This power up is upgradable so you can use it for longer in each run. Its definitely one to consider upgrading as early as you can. To use it, you have to collect it while running.
Jetpack / Pogo Stick
Both the Jetpack and Pogo Stick send you into the air to go and get the coins that are up in the air. While doing so you’re also avoiding track obstacles, so it helps when you’re going for distance. It’s perfect for a high score boost and a coin haul. To activate them collect it while running. The Jetpack is upgradable, however the Pogo Stick is not.
Super Sneakers
Super Sneakers make your character jump higher, helping you leap over trains and other obstacles with ease. To activate them, collect them while running.
Super Mysterizer
This transforms into a random item. Its only available during Mystery Monday events, and to use it you must collect it during a run.
2x Multiplier
When you collect this on your run, it doubles your score for a short time. If you’re trying to get a highest score in Subway Surfers to show to your friends, you’ll want to get these whenever you see them. You can upgrade this power up to have it last longer.

Hoverboard
This protects you from crashing for 30 seconds. Its not a traditional power up, but it functions very similarly to the others, so we’re including it here.
Headstart
Like you’d expect from the name, it gives you a headstart in your runs. By tapping it at the start of the game, you zoom into the sky for a limited time to then start running from a much further distance. It costs 2000 coins to purchase. However, it did used to cost 400.
Score Booster
The Score Booster increases your multiplier by 5, 6 or 7. To activate it you have to tap it before you start running. It costs 3000 coins to purchase.
Note that you don’t really need to pay for the headstart and score booster. You can get them for free while opening Mystery Boxes.
To make the most of your Subway Surfers runs you’ll want to make good use of the power ups you hit on your run. Make sure to grab and upgrade them for the best running experience.
