PUBG Mobile Lite got its last major update in 2019, per the official website. Since then, the game has received various patch updates, but none of them have had considerable changes. It seems Tencent isn’t paying much attention to the game title.
There could be various reasons for this. One of them could be the ban on PUBG Mobile in India. The game was banned in 2020 along with its Lite version. India as a whole was a big market for PUBG Mobile. However, PUBG Mobile Lite made up the overwhelming majority of players for the game and competed primarily with Free Fire.
Now, with the door to India closed, the entire operations for PUBG Mobile Lite are in jeopardy. It remains to be seen how much longer the game actually remains operational since there have been no updates on social media channels for the title as well.
