MPL PH Season 9 Week 1 – ECHO, TNC clinch 2-0 records

Season 9 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL PH) in the Philippines has already commenced last Friday. And during the first three days, all the eight teams competing in this edition of the tournament faced either their first or first two opponents this season – with one squad in particular already living up to the hype as this season’s ‘super team.’

Here are some of our featured MPL Season 9 teams who made waves this past weekend.

MPL PH S9 TNC

New and Improved TNC

The TNC Pro Team was eliminated early in MPL Ph season 8 despite their original Work Auster Force squad being acquired by the TNC organization last year. But now, even if it’s only Daniel “SDzyz” Chu and Ben “Benthings” Maglaque who remained on their roster, the new TNC MLBB Pro Team is already looking sick – and by sick meaning a team to watch out for.

The team claimed a clean 2-0 in their first two matches and a game record of 4-0. They pummeled Smart Omega, 2-0, in their first match. It was followed by their demolition of M3, MPL Ph season 7 and 8 champion Blacklist International in their third overall match where SDzyz scored 7 kills and 2 assists with his Lancelot. He also notched the honor of this week’s MVP after listing an average of 5.25 kills, 0.75 deaths, and 3.75 assists.

It may be too early to say, but this new TNC squad proves to be as dominant as possible. Yet a match-up with ECHO could be a match of the season contender I must say.

ECHO – ‘The Super Team’ in MPL Ph Season 9

Their monicker says it all. This season’s roster of ECHO Philippines (formerly AURA Philippines) lived up to the hype as they emerged in both of their matches without losing any game.

The squad headed by M2 world champion and superstar jungler Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera,  Jankurt “Kurtzy” Matira, Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico, and Frederic Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales swept their opponents, 2-0 – in the form of former M2 world champion Bren Esports and 2021 MSC champion Smart Omega.

Kurtzy’s Gale in game 1 against Bren went on to be the most dominant pick in that game after he scored 8 kills and 4 assists with only 1 death to top off their 21-13 victory. Karltzy on the other hand notched 12 kills and 4 assists with his Paquito to demolish Smart Omega in their first match. Now holding off a perfect 2-0 record and 4-0 in games, ECHO truly is a team to watch this season 9 and we can’t wait for more matches from this so-called ‘super team’ of the MPL Ph.
