Oddin.gg and Kambi have both announced deals aimed at expanding esports gambling in South America. Oddin announced a new partnership with BETesporte to power esports betting in Brazil. Meanwhile, Kambi said it has extended its agreement with BetWarrior, which is active in Brazil, Argentina, and Peru.

BETesporte operates the Lance de Sorte brand, which will integrate Oddin’s esports betting feeds into its platform.

The company intends to capitalize on the growing popularity of esports as it expands its presence in Brazil.

“We see esports as a strategic opportunity to expand our operations into a rapidly growing segment that features a highly engaged community,” said Julio Santana, CMO of Lance de Sorte.

“The partnership with Oddin.gg gives us access to the technology and expertise necessary to offer a differentiated experience, aligned with the best market practices.”

Oddin Targets South American Market

The deal with BETesporte follows Oddin signing an agreement with Jugamax in April. It says esports remains an under-explored area for betting companies in South America.

“In Brazil, esports is already one of the largest entertainment landscapes, yet it remains under-explored by betting operations, and that is precisely where the opportunity lies. BETesporte was one of the first to treat the vertical not just as another line in their portfolio, but as the core of their next phase, investing heavily in media, content, and community relations. It is a long-term move built to last, and I am proud to lead this effort alongside them on behalf of Oddin.gg,” said Mauricio Lima, Market Lead at Oddin in Brazil.

Brazil launched its newly regulated market at the start of last year. Over 25 million Brazilians placed wagers on licensed platforms, generating revenue of R$37 billion (about $7 billion).

Kambi Extends BetWarrior Deal

Kambi also announced an extension to its deal with BetWarrior, meaning the gambling company will continue using its sportsbook technology in Latin America. BetWarrior primarily operates in Argentina, but recently expanded into Brazil and Peru.

“BetWarrior has established itself as one of the most ambitious operators in Latin America, and we are proud to extend our partnership as they continue their growth journey,” said Werner Becher, CEO of Kambi Group, in a press release

“This multi-year agreement further demonstrates Kambi’s ability to support leading operators with a premium sportsbook solution that enables sustainable success in highly competitive and evolving regulated markets across the region.”

Kambi is particularly pushing its esoccer markets, which it says are now more popular than many real soccer leagues.

Zeno Ossko, CEO of BetWarrior, said Kambi offers “a high-performance sportsbook that allows us to compete at the highest level.” Ossko added that the extension of the deal will help the company “further strengthen our position in Argentina and regulated markets across Latin America.”

Brazilian President Clamps Down On Illegal Gambling

Both BetWarrior and BETesporte are licensed in Brazil, but the country’s President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (Lula), is threatening to toughen the rules on gambling.

Lula is campaigning for reelection on a promise to clamp down on the industry, which he says is costly to the Brazilian people.

“I am deeply worried about the indebtedness of the Brazilian people,” he said earlier this year. “If these platforms cause harm, why don’t we end them? We are discussing this very seriously.”

Last week, he took action against illegal gambling operators, signing a decree that allows the government to freeze ‌funds from unlicensed companies.

Critics of a ban on legal gambling argue it would send players to unregulated platforms. While the law allows, companies such as Oddin and Kambi look set on maximizing revenue from the growth of esports in the country.
