PCS Summer Playoffs 2024
The 2024 season marks a first for the PCS as the region included both the Oceanic League, the LCO, and the League of Legends Japan League (LJL) into its playoffs. This means that the three regions will contend for two spots at Worlds 2024, with the winner of the league getting the right to take part in the new APAC league for 2025.
The format
Given the presence of three different leagues, the PCS playoffs’ format is held in two stages. In the first part, teams are split into two groups, competing each in a double-elimination bracket. The top two teams from each group will advance to Stage 2, reuniting with the top-seeded teams. The lower bracket winners of each group will compete in a BO5 “advancement match”, and the winner will get the final spot in Stage 2.
In the second phase, the best six teams will compete in another traditional double-elimination bracket, with the winner being crowned the PCS champion and becoming the #1 seed at Worlds.
