National Pokémon Day occurs on February 27 every single year. This date is a very important iconic one to the history of the franchise and gaming at large. That day, in 1996, is when the now-iconic brand first debuted. The Pocket Monsters first appeared in the Red and Green versions on February 27, 26 years ago. What is Pokémon Day? It is a day when pretty much any and all information around the franchise from that time is revealed to the community.

This year, while no new game or movie was announced, a lot of information about the future of the brand was revealed. They revealed the launch of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic, which is a new re-release of cards from the original set in a new game. The card game has been around since the very beginning, and they’re going back to the roots.
The Pokémon Company and Netflix made an announcement together about a new series coming up. It will be titled Pokémon Concierge and will use stop-motion animation to build on the Pokémon universe. It will take place at a resort for the creatures.
Also announced, the Pokémon CAFE Remix was also going to get Sprigatito, Quaxly and Fuecoco. These three were the starters from the Paldea region, which was featured in the latest Generation, Scarlet and Violet. Pokémon Sleep, a brand new game, was also announced. The mobile app, which is a mix of an alarm clock and the popular game Pokémon Go, rewards players for getting a good night’s rest. It measures, records, and analyzes sleep patterns, and Pokémon characters that share similar sleep habits will appear in the game to then be caught.
The Pokémon Company also reintroduced the community to the Pokémon Plus Plus accessory. It is a small, Pokéball-shaped device that can pair with both Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sleep. It can go on a trainer’s pillow at night to help Pokémon Sleep track data, or it can carried in a bag during the day to automatically catch Pokémon in Pokémon GO while walking.

They also announced the DLC for Scarlet and Violet, which is coming later this year. All in all, there were quite a few announcements made that the community is very pleased with.
