Pokémon come in a lot of different styles, designs, models and more. Some of them make for pretty cute Pokémon. This is largely intentional as designers often try to emulate things or mirror their type or personality. Starter Pokémon, for example, are always smaller, cuter versions of their future evolutions. The Baby Pokémon are other good examples of cute Pokémon. It’s all subjective, but the designers certainly wanted to make these Pokémon look cute.
Charmander is Kanto’s cutest Pokémon
Naturally, all starters are pretty adorable. Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle are no different. Caterpie, Weedle and Pikachu would fall under that category, too. The female version of Nidoran is cuter than the male. Vulpix is sweet as well. Jigglypuff is an iconically cute one from the Kanto region. Oddish, which resembles a potted plant, is adorable, too. Growlithe is known as the Puppy Pokémon, so it certainly qualifies. Cubone is cute, but only if you ignore its backstory, which is shockingly tragic. Horsea looks like a cute seahorse, so it definitely deserves a spot on the list. Eevee might be the cutest Pokémon of all. Dratini is quite endearing, too. Finally, the Mythical Pokémon Mew is very charming, as well.
Once again, the starters are adorable. This time, they are:
Other cute examples include the baby Pokémon which debuted in Johto. These are Cleffa, Pichu, Igglybuff, Togepi, Magby, Elekid and Smoochum. Marill isn’t a baby Pokémon, but it might as well be since it is just as adorable. The same logic applies to Wooper, too. Snubbull is pretty cute, especially when compared to its evolution Granbull. Teddiursa is the cutest little bear in the entire franchise. Once again, the Mythical Pokémon from Johto is cute: Celebi.
Azurill is to die for
The cute starters are Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip. Poochyena is an adorable little puppy. Seedot is perhaps the cutest acorn ever drawn. Ralts is pretty lovable, too. Whismur evolves into two decidedly not cute Pokémon, but that doesn’t stop it from being absolutely adorable. Azurill is the baby Pokémon introduced for Marill and Azumarill and it is stunningly cute. Meditite seems like a baby Pokémon and its design fits with the lovable theme. Plusle and Minun are adorable in design and their friendship. Wynaut is one of the few Pokémon with a genuine smile and that makes it as cute as any other. Finally, another Mythical Pokémon is pretty cute in Jirachi.
Adorable starters this time around are:
They are joined by Starly, Shinx and so many others in forming the Sinnoh region’s adorable team. Budew is sweet, as is Combee. Cherubi is to die for. Chingling looks as if it has a bow on its head, which is the epitome of cute. More baby Pokémon were introduced this time, too:
Additionally, it’s not a baby Pokémon per se, but Riolu was crafted in the same vein. Mantyke was, too. Legendary Pokémon Manaphy and Phione are cute to wrap up this region.
Lillipup is adorable
Furthermore, Unova has adorable starters in Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott. Lillipup is a puppy and is automatically cute. Purrloin is a young cat, so the logic applies here, too. Pansage, Pansear and Panpour are adorable as well. Blitzle is like a pony and is pretty lovable. Tympole is effectively a tadpole, so it qualifies as well. Sewaddle is as adorable as they come. The same can be said of Petilil. Zorua is cute, which goes against its nature of being tricky and scheming. Minccino is like a little mouse, which is an undeniably sweet-looking animal. Additionally, all forms of Deerling are pretty cute. Joltik is one of the smallest Pokémon out there, which only helps it look even more sweet. Cubchoo, even with its frozen snot, is adorable. Victini is also very cute for another adorable Mythical.
The starters in Kalos are once again among the cutest Pokémon in the franchise. Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie are too cute. Fletchling is, too. Dedenne may be an off-brand Pikachu, but it’s still adorable. Also, Noibat is pretty sweet. Ultimately, there aren’t as many adorable Pokémon in Kalos.
The three Alolan starters are Rowlet, Litten and Popplio
The Alolan starters may be the cutest in the entire game:
Cutiefly has a strong case to be the cutest creature in all nine Generations. Rockruff is one of the most adorable dog Pokémon out there. Morelull is precious as can be. Stufful has an absolutely delightful design, too. It doesn’t get much cuter than an apple Pokémon, and Bounsweet is just that. Also, Komala, Mimikyu and Togedemaru are undeniably adorable. Cosmog is a unique Pokémon and it’s pretty lovable.
Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble make up this region’s adorable starter Pokémon. They’re joined by the likes of Skwovet, Rookidee, Blipbug and Nickit, to name a few. Chewtle is modeled after a baby turtle, so it is certainly lovable. An electric dog that is shaped like a dachshund is pretty cute and that’s exactly what Yamper is. The apple logic applies to Applin from Galar, too. Toxel is literally a baby, so it is absokutely adorable. Hatenna, Hattrem and Hatterene make up the rare full cute evolutionary line. Despite its mischevious nature, Impidimp is pretty sweet-looking. Milcery is cute and so is Alcremie. Snom is basic, but it’s undeniably adorable. Eiscue is cute, especially with its ice face on. Cufant is a baby elephant, so of course it’s on this list.
Paldean starters are adorable
Finally, the Paldea region has yet another trio of absolutely adorable starters with Fuecoco, Quaxly and Sprigatito. Pawmi is another cute Generation IX Pokémon. Fidough, much like Yamper, is absolutely lovable as well. Smoliv is cute and so is Charcadet, both of which are similar to baby Pokémon. Capsakid is another one like that, too. Flittle is so cute as well. Tinkatink, Tinkatuff and Tinkatonare very adorable for a full line.
As of now, those are by far the cutest Pokémon Nintendo has ever come up with.
