Meowscarada Pokemon Unite Release Date
Pokemon Unite announced its most recent trio of new Pokémon in a single trailer at the Yokohama Pokemon World finals. The three Pokémon making their debut are the Hoenn Fire Starer Blaziken, the Pikachu Puppet, Mimikyu, and Scarlet and Violet’s Grass type sweeper, Meowscarada.
Blaziken was the first to launch, being added to the public servers on September 14th as an all rounder. Featuring a unique move set as a stance change character, it uses its Unite move as a combo tool rather than a big finishing sweeper. Mimikyu, unsurprisingly, launched alongside the Halloween event of October on the 19th. Like Blaziken, Mimikyu is a close range all rounder with high burst damage, and survivability due to its “Busted Form”.
But what about Meowscarada?

When does Meowscarada release?
The final of the three, Meowscarada is set to release on December 7th 2023, as announced on the official Pokemon Unite X account.
It will, like Mimikyu, launch alongside seasonal holiday themed battes or those looking to try out the Speedster on a temporary pass.
The trailer shows off that at full evolution, the character will be tricky to pin down. As a Speedster class, maneuverability is the name of the game. Based on the targeting reticule, we know that one of their moves will be Sure Hit. This means as long as a valid target is in the aim, it will track. Even if the target moves outside the range after casting.
Meowscarada Moves
According to @ElChicoEevee on Twitter, Meowscarada will have a full set of high damage moves that will mirror its VGC play style, which is pretty common among speedsters. Players will likely want to take Meowscarada to mid lane to be powerful sweepers!
- Leafage – hit enemy Pokemon in a cone to deal damage and slow movement speed.
- Hone Claws – increase attack speed and damage of the next 3 basic attacks.
- Flower Trick – attaches a bomb that deals percentage based damage in an AOE that is increased if the bomb hits an opposing Pokemon. The cooldown resets if the enemy is knocked out.
- Night Slash – deals damage and places a mark on an opposing Pokemon. When the marked Pokemon is attacked, the cooldown is reduced and Meowscarada gains HP.
- Double Team – creates an illusion Meowscarada. The copy deals AOE damage and prevents enemies from acting when the illusion’s HP drops to 0.
- Trailblaze – leaps onto an opposing Pokemon, deals damage and paralyzes them. Movement and attack speed are increased and the range is increased if Meowscarada is in long grass. The cooldown resets if an opposing Pokemon is knocked out by this move.
- Unite Move: Floral Flourish – teleports Meowscarada to a set location and creates an AOE whirlwind that consistently deals damage. Other attacks cannot be used at the same time.
