The Jynxzi vs amustycow Rocket League 1v1 Finished in 18 Seconds in Shocking Fashion

Nicholas “Jynxzi” Stewart and popular Rocket League content creator amustycow finally had their long-awaited 1v1 matchup, and it didn’t go as expected at all after finishing in less than 20 seconds.

Amustycow had been working on organizing this 1v1 for some time, and even had it delayed by almost a week as Jynxzi was unwell (though musty suggested he was simply scared and needed more practice).

Finally, on Sunday, January 11, the 1v1 took place. Jynxzi peaked at nearly 150,000 viewers in the stream according to TwitchMetrics, and this was clearly a big moment for the Rocket League community. But it didn’t quite go as expected.

Jynxzi Embarrasses amustycow

In the 1v1, amustycow started down 99-0 – Jynxzi just needed to score one goal in the first-to-100 matchup, while musty had to get the full 100.

We’ve seen similar 1v1s in other games, such as Fortnite, and it usually ends with the pro player winning and not letting a single point go… This one wasn’t like that.

After amustycow opened proceedings to bring the score to 99-1, Jynxzi reset with an immediate kickoff goal, and was clearly shocked as he watched it roll in.

Yes, the 1v1 lasted less than 20 seconds.

Running the 1v1 Back

However, given the high demand from viewers for more Rocket League content, they decided to run it back – and it went quite differently.

On the second attempt, musty managed to pull off the 100 straight goals he needed to win, proving that he still has the edge over the Rainbow Six Siege streamer, despite how the first attempt went.

Rocket League has had a pretty huge boost on Twitch over the week prior to the 1v1, with Jynxzi bringing a ton of viewers to the game. Over the past 7 days at the time of writing, Rocket League’s hours watched are up 98% to 2.4 million, average viewers up 98% to around 14,200, and max viewers up 500% from the previous week, according to SullyGnome.

The game is one that has really struggled to enter the mainstream in recent years, but perhaps Jynxzi’s touch could be what the esport needs to revive itself a little.
