RSG to the moon as MPL PH Season 9 Playoffs Brackets go Live
Regular Season play at the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL – PH) Season 9 has concluded. Out of the eight teams, only six remain and will move on to the Playoffs, with some of the most intense matchups now highlighted in the brackets.
Before we dive into the Playoff matchups, let’s get to know the two teams that stood out and left a hefty mark during the final week of the regular season.
RSG are Regular Season kings
Despite being overshadowed by ECHO and TNC, especially in the early days of the regular season, PSG Philippines ended as the number 1 team of the entire MPL PH season 9 after finishing their overall stint with an 11-3 match record while having a 23-9 game win-loss listing, capping off all the eight teams as the top finisher with 31 points.
RSG’s last match of the season took place this past weekend when they took on Onic Philippines. And as usual, they managed to pull off a 2-0 finish to complete their season run, eventually outlasting TNC and ECHO in the ladder for the number 1 seed.
Additionally, RSG’s Dylan “Light” Catipon was hailed as the regular season MVP after he finished the entire tournament with an overall average of 3.92 KDA and 6.97 assists per game, while listing a total of 223 assists. He also had an 83% win rate using Franco, 80% with Chou, and 75% with Khufra.
They will face the winner of Nexplay Evos vs Onic in the second match of the 1st round of the Playoffs.
Omega Esports are back
After a roller coaster ride of emotions and results this season 9 of MPL PH, MSC 2021 champs Omega Esports are back in the Playoffs contention. They took on two powerhouse and established teams to make their way to the higher level of competition.
Omega faced M2 world champion Bren Esports this past weekend to open their last regular season week. It wasn’t easy for them, but they managed to beat Bren and score a 2-1 match win. They faced m3 world champion Blacklist International the next day. And after winning game 1, they already secured the final Playoff spot, eventually eliminating who could be considered their biggest rivals.
Omega’s Patrick “E2MAX” James Caidic received the final MVP of the week honors, listing averages of 3.00 kills, 2.6 deaths, and 9.4 assists. Their squad is known for becoming a monster team during Playoffs of every tournament they join, so Omega will surely be a team to look out for.
Though it won’t be easy for them since their first matchup in the playoffs will be against none other than the so-called “super team” this season, ECHO Philippines.
MPL PH Season 9 Playoffs Brackets
RSG is waiting the winner of Nexplay vs Onic, the winner of ECHO vs Omega on the other hand will face the second overall team of the season – in the form of TNC. The losers of Nexplay vs Onic and ECHO vs Omega will be eliminated already from the competition. While the losers from the first matches involving RSG and TNC will have a second chance to compete for their spot in the lower bracket.

MPL Philippines
When it comes to initial expectations, ECHO and ONIC PH seem like the favorites in the opening matches.
Omega managed to drop both regular season to ECHO without taking a single game, it would be an achievement if they manage to take at least one come Playoffs. Meanwhile, ONIC and Nexplay have had some close duels during the regular season, but overall ONIC played a way better split compared to Nexplay who got the bulk of their points flexing on Bren Esports.
Come round two, everything is up in the air and we will make a deep dive analysis right before kick-off.
