TimTheTatman Starts Roobet Partnership With Marathon Gambling Sessions
Crypto casino Roobet announced a partnership with livestreamer Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar on January 12. The creator has already posted three marathon gambling sessions on the platform, generating huge winnings before a big losing session.
TimTheTatman livestreamed himself gambling at Roobet for over 30 hours in three sessions on Stake-owned platform Kick over in January. In the first, he hit a big jackpot on the interactive live casino game Crazy Time, winning over $500,000 on one spin.
In total, he ended the first session with over $1.5 million, after starting with around $160,000. The second and third streams were less profitable. By the end of the third stream posted on Thursday, his balance was just over $1 million.
Roobet announced that Tatman was joining their team in a post on X last week, indicating he will be showcasing the platform in livestreams on Kick.
The collaboration started in a live session with 100 Thieves co-founder Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag. The team was criticized for renaming to 100 Thieves Roobet when returning to Counter-Strike 2 last year.
TimTheTatman Faces Similar Backlash Over Deal
No details were revealed about how often he has agreed to livestream gambling sessions on the platform, or how much he will be paid for the promotions.
Similarly to when 100 Thieves announced its deal with Roobet, many users reacted negatively to TimTheTatman agreeing to promote the Curacao-licensed company.
As it is an offshore platform, it is officially prohibited in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. However, many users can access the site through VPNs, and its focus on crypto payments makes it challenging for regulators to restrict its operations.
Nevertheless, it describes itself as “the world’s fastest growing, fully licensed crypto casino.”
TimTheTatman joins a list of promoters, including Canelo Alvarez, Brandon Moreno, Charles Oliveira, and Snoop Dogg.
Snoop Dogg became the brand’s ‘Chief Ganjaroo Officer’ in 2023. The rapper has now launched his own online casino, announcing Dogg House Casino in January.
However, he continues to appear in Roobet promotions, particularly for the game Smoke ‘Em, which he describes as “wilder than a stallion at sunrise.”
Roobet Targets Esports Gamblers With Event Sponsoring
In addition to signing up celebrity endorsers, Roobet has also invested in esports sponsorship. The company was founded in 2018 by a group of “lifelong gamers,” including Matt Duea, who serves as Roobet’s Head of Partnerships.
As well as sponsoring 100 Thieves, the gambling platform also ran its own CS2 tournaments, but, like the endorsement deals, these have not always been well received by esports fans.
The Roobet Cup ran in 2022 and 2023, but with fans not buying into the tournament, it has not operated since.
The company hopes TimTheTatman can bolster its reputation among esports and streaming fans.
