VALORANT crashing after pressing the alt-tab can be caused by various factors. Although we haven’t experienced this issue, we found that Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling is the biggest reason while researching this topic. In simple words, this feature is implemented to improve the performance of the GPU by offloading some tasks. However, it sometimes conflicts with video games which also causes VALORANT to crash.

The best method to get rid of the VALORANT Alt-Tab crash issue is by disabling the Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling option in the Windows settings. Simply, go to settings > System > Display > Graphics > and turn off the Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling. Finally, restart your PC and the issue should be fixed.
Alternatively, running the game in the borderless mode also turned out to be one of the most effective methods to prevent this issue. VALORANT, by default, runs into the full screen mode. All you have to do is change this setting to Borderless by heading to the video section.
Don’t worry, the FPS won’t be negatively impacted. It’s just another way of displaying the game on your computer and you’ll be able to seamlessly transition between different applications in no time. Just to be on the safe side, make sure your GPU drivers are up-to-date because they play important in running games seamlessly.
