Can Bronze play with Gold in VALORANT?
Can a Bronze-ranked player play with a Gold-ranked gamer is one of the frequently asked questions by the VALORANT community. In case you didn’t know, the game’s ranking system prevents players from queuing up together if there’s a rank disparity between the party members. The system has been implemented to ensure fair matchmaking when playing the ranked or competitive modes in VALORANT. So, if you’re wondering whether your bronze buddy can play with your gold-ranked account in VALORANT, then look no further.

Can Bronze and Gold play together in VALORANT?
The short answer is no. Bronze and Gold ranked players can’t play VALORANT together in duo and trio queues. Moreover, the game doesn’t allow a party of four players to queue for a Competitive match.
Thankfully, a party of five members can queue without rank restrictions. So, Bronze and Gold players can only play together only if there are five players in the lobby. The only caveat, however, is that all the players will face a 25 percent RR reduction, irrespective of the match’s outcome.
For instance, if you’re supposed to earn 20 RR in a regular lobby, you’ll only receive 15 RR in a rank disparity match, which is essentially 25 percent less.

As mentioned earlier, limitations to which VALORANT ranks you can play within the same lobby are only applicable to duos and three-player parties. As of writing this article, you will face the following ranked queue limitations:
Your Rank | Highest Rank of Your Teammate |
---|---|
Iron and Bronze | Silver |
Silver | Gold |
Gold | Platinum |
Platinum, Diamond, Ascendant, Immortal, and Radiant | Only 1 Tier Higher in Rank |
Any parties with significant rank differences will see a 25 percent reduction in RR points. Radiant players in a full 5-man party with anyone not Radiant will receive a 90 percent RR reduction. Those below Radiant in such groups face a 75 percent RR reduction. Finally, it’s worth noting that 4-man parties are not allowed, and 3-man groups are disabled once you reach the Immortal rank.
