What changes has DetonatioN FocusMe made to win their first game in VCT Pacific?

At the start of the year, DetonatioN FocusMe announced its new VALORANT roster. Seo “Suggest” Jae-young, who had been on the old roster for over two years, was released. The team then took a new approach to signing younger Japanese players. To do so, they started scouting for players in the VALORANT Challengers League in Japan.

The team went on to sign the roster of Crazy Racoons in 2023, but things didn’t start well. From December 2023 to February 2024, the team went winless, not being able to secure a single map to their name. Following the VCT Pacific Kickoff, the team was reported to have been improving in various scrims.

Their first match was against T1, who this season have signed Xccurate as well. The first half of Map 1 felt like it would go the same way, with the score being 7-5 in favor of T1.

Things changed when DetonatioN FocusMe made a comeback and took map one with a scoreline of 13-11. The coincidence with this map win was that it was such a long time since the last time DetonatioN FocusMe won a map, but the last time they did was against T1.

Currently, DetonatioN FocusMe is fifth in their group. To secure a spot in the playoffs, they must secure a minimum of two wins during the group stage.

Following that, they need to either be in the top three teams in their group or be the fourth team in their group, hoping that no team in the other group secures two wins. It would turn the tide for DetonatioN FocusMe if they could claw their path to the VCT Pacific Stage 1 playoff phase.
