Since their first tournament appearance in VALORANT Esports, EDward Gaming (EDG) has become one of the most popular teams in the world. They are also the reigning VALORANT Champions 2024 winners. Recently, they reached the grand finals of the China Evolution Series: Act 2 X Asian Champions League, securing their spot in the upcoming Esports World Cup (EWC) VALORANT.

There was a lot of buzz after the announcement that EWC would be hosting a VALORANT Tournament in 2025. A significant reason for this was the intrigue behind which teams would be allowed to participate in the event. Around that time, EWC announced the 40 esports organizations that would be a part of the EWCF Club Partner Program.
Last month, EWC announced the qualification requirements for the teams within the VCT. Currently, most of the regional VCT Leagues Stage One events have concluded. The top 2 teams from the four regional VCT Leagues Stage One events will receive a direct qualification to the EWC. Each VCT region will then host its qualifiers. The top 2 teams from these qualifiers will receive a spot in the upcoming EWC VALORANT Tournament.
Within VCT CN, the EWC qualifier tournament was called the China Evolution Series: Act 2 X Asian Champions League. It consisted of a single-bracket direct elimination format. Teams played in a best-of-3 series, with the winner qualifying for the next round.
During the playoffs, EDward Gaming defeated FunPlus Phoenix 2-0 during the quarter finals. In their semifinal match-up, they also defeated Trace Esports 2-0.
EDward Gaming and Titan Esports Club alongside the grand finalists of VCT CN Stage One: Xi Lai Gaming and Bilibili Gaming as the teams from China in the upcoming EWC tournament. Below is a list of all the confirmed teams for the forthcoming EWC VALORANT Tournament:
