How To Block & Unblock Players In VALORANT
Riot Games has always promoted a safe environment in VALORANT that’s why you see players getting hammered by temporary cooldowns whenever they breach the basic guidelines. However, certain players have no effect even after receiving a temporary ban and they always come back to ruin other players’ experience. The best way to tackle those players is to block them. If that sounds feasible, here’s a quick guide on how to block and unblock players in VALORANT.

Here are a few steps that you must follow in order to block and unblock players in the game:
- Go to the “Career” tab.
- Locate the player you want to block and right-click their username.
- Click the ‘Block’ option that appears.
- Alternatively, you can block players by right-clicking them in the Friends or Party tab, or by clicking the ‘Block’ icon in the bottom-right corner of a friend request.
If you’ve accidentally blocked someone or regret your decision in the future, thankfully, you can also unblock them whenever you want. To access it, press ESC and go to Settings. Then, click on the ‘Account’ tab located near the top-left area of the screen. Scroll down until you find the ‘Blocked Players’ button. Clicking it will open a list where you can view, manage and unblock any players you’ve previously blocked.

What happens when you block a player in VALORANT?
As we mentioned earlier, VALORANT will stop all the communications between you and them when you block a player in the game. As a result, they won’t be able to invite you, send you a personal message, send you a friend request or initiate a voice communication. However, it doesn’t mean that they can’t appear in your matches. In fact, you can still randomly team up or play against a blocked player as it depends on the matchmaking system.
Fun Fact: VALORANT didn’t have the blocking feature until 2024. In fact, in 2023, one of the developers also confirmed via Reddit that ‘Block list’ is one of their priorities and they’re actively working on it.
