MIBR’s Valorant Team Announces 1xBet As New Sponsor Under New Riot Games Betting Rules

MIBR has announced a deal with 1xBet, making it the first Valorant team to sign up with a betting partner since Riot Games approved gambling sponsorships.

The game developer officially confirmed it will allow teams in Valorant and League of Legends to have betting sponsors starting this year.

MIBR or 1xBet did not disclose the financial details of the deal, but stated that the partnership aims to create a new, immersive fan experience, strengthen the team’s global fan base, and boost overall engagement with Valorant.

Raphael Castanheira, MIBR’s Director of Marketing and Partnerships, commented,  “Being the first organization in the entire Riot ecosystem to obtain approval for a betting sponsorship is a direct result of how MIBR operates today, as an organized company with robust governance, clear processes, and protected by policies that put competitive integrity at the forefront.”

MIBR’s Valorant roster currently includes players from the United States and Brazil. Over the past few years, the team has been a regular competitor in VCT Americas, and in 2025, they qualified for Valorant Masters Toronto — the only Latin American team to do so.

The team also competed at Valorant Champions 2025 last month, finishing in a joint fifth place alongside Team Heretics to take home $85,000 in prize money.

1xBet Expands Presence In Esports

1xBet describes itself as one of the most recognized brands in esports betting, regularly supporting major global tournaments and sponsoring top-tier teams worldwide.

In September, it became the main sponsor of the Argentinian esports organisation 9z Team and won Esports Operator of the Year at the SBC Awards last year.

The company also posted the announcement on its esports X account, declaring it as “a new page in esports history”.

Simon Westbury, Strategic Advisor at 1xBet commented on the deal with MIBR, stating, “This is a historic step for 1xBet — becoming the first official betting partner of an esports team within the Riot Games ecosystem.

“MIBR features some of the most talented and visible players in Latin America, and together we aim to strengthen VALORANT’s presence across the LATAM region, elevate its appeal internationally, and deliver a unique fan experience for audiences around the globe.”
