VALORANT joins Asian Champions League (ACL) lineup

With a total prize pool of $2,000,000, fans wondered which games would participate in this event. Until now, ACL has announced that Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, Honor of Kings, and Teamfight Tactics (TFT) will join this esports event.

For fans of VALORANT, this event will be a spectacle. The Asian Champions League (ACL) will be the only international-level VALORANT tournament held in Shanghai during the first half of 2025.

The last time an international VALORANT event was held in Shanghai was the VALORANT Masters in 2024. During that event, the passion of Asian VALORANT fans was on full display. This passion was recently seen during the VCT China Kickoff event, where EDward Gaming continued to dominate in the VCT China League.

Concerning this announcement, Jonny Wang, CEO of the Asian Champions League, stated the following:

“We are excited to announce the addition of Valorant to the ACL. We hope the ACL will evolve into a comprehensive tournament, providing a larger stage for players and teams across various competitions while delivering more exciting content for our audience.”

Impact of VALORANT Being A Part Of The ACL

The ACL will take place in the first half of 2025, with the finals of the ACL CS2 Tournament and Honor of Kings Tournament scheduled for May. The CS2 tournament will consist of 8 teams and have a prize pool of $300,000. The Honor of Kings tournament will consist of 12 teams and have a prize pool of $200,000.

Hero Esports hasn’t announced the prize pool and format of VALORANT in the ACL yet.

Another point to note is that the Hero Esports Asian Champions League recently revealed that the champions of the ACL CS2 and Honor of Kings Tournaments will secure direct entry to the Esports World CupCurrently, there is no news if the same applies to VALORANT, which was introduced in the Esports World Cup this year. With more esports titles left to be announced for the ACL, only time will tell which fan-favorite game will participate in this event.
