Valorant Fans Have One Major Concern About New Envy Roster
Envy is officially making its return to Tier 1 Valorant after several years away, and a short grind through VCT Ascension, and the organization is starting the new year with a polarizing roster.
Having to sign two new players, the team ultimately landed on Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo and Angelo “keznit” Mori, with many fans calling this roster a huge gamble.
Envy Welcome Rossy and keznit
Envy’s path back into Valorant’s franchising was supposed to be the hard part – but ironically, qualifying through Ascension ended up being much easier than what came next.
However, before Envy even had the chance to play its first official VCT match, the organization was already forced into making major changes.
Two of the team’s prodigies, Alex “canezerra” Banyasz and Ayan “ion2x” Rastogi, were benched after failing to meet Riot’s age requirements for the league.
As a result, Envy had to act quickly and decided to sign former KRU Duelist player keznit alongside Rossy, a player who has a history of struggling to stay with teams long term.
Fans Call New Team “Hit or Miss”
Right after Envy announced its new lineup, many fans collectively came to a similar conclusion: this roster is a huge coinflip. Many joke that this team will either become title contenders or finish at the bottom of every event.
There’s no doubt the individuals on this team bring firepower, but the concern stems from the personalities and histories now packed into a single Valorant roster. Most of the players, including the two newest additions in particular, are known for having large voices and strong influence on their past teams.
That has led fans to worry that Envy could end up losing to themselves, as clashing personalities and tilt could quickly turn small problems into bigger ones.
Keznit Seeks Redemption After Sudden KRU Exit
And while personalities are one of the biggest talking points around Envy’s new roster, there’s even more drama attached to their newest signing. Keznit lands on Envy with a point to prove after he was suddenly removed from his previous team, KRU.
According to keznit himself, he didn’t even know the team was planning to remove him. “I didn’t know either, but oh well, I’ll just play,” he said.
This side story only adds more weight to Envy’s VCT Americas Kickoff run, as a potential revenge matchup against KRU could very well be a reality.
However, if keznit wants a match against his old organization, Envy will first need to earn it. The new roster will make its debut against Evil Geniuses on January 15, when Envy plays the opening match of Kickoff 2026.
