Within VALORANT, we have seen multiple updates in the past. Some of these updates bring new content to the game. Other times, there are significant changes in mechanics in the game. When VALORANT first launched, the yearly content cycle was split between Episodes and Acts. An Episode would be a 3-to-4-month period. Within this period, a collective theme would be followed throughout the game.
For example, Episode 1 was known as Ignition, while Episode 2 was known as Formation. Within each Episode, there would be 3 Acts within the game. This is consistent with the console version of VALORANT, and mostly it will be the same in the upcoming VALORANT Mobile.
In a year, a total of two episodes will be released within the game. Each Episode’s Act update would be a major patch update. Within this, new agents and maps will be launched within the game.
In 2024, we witnessed the launch of the map Abyss and the introduction of agents Vyse and Clove. The significant updates for VALORANT typically occur after a major VALORANT esports tournament.
This is primarily done to increase competitive integrity. Additionally, on the last day of either a VALORANT Masters or Champions event, a show match is held to showcase the new map or agent. However, in 2025, VALORANT announced a complete overhaul of the content cycle.
Instead of Episodes, each year will be known as a season. As we are in the year 2025, VALORANT has announced the first season, known as V25. Within V25, there will be a total of 6 Acts.
Each Act will last for a total of 8 weeks. Currently, V25 Act 2 is ongoing within VALORANT. It is reported that the VALORANT Season V25 Act 3 release date is scheduled to launch worldwide on April 30th. Currently, there are no leaks regarding the content that will be available during Act 3.
However, VALORANT has released the upcoming Premier schedule for V25 Act 3.
