PvE Rogue

Alliance: Human or Night Elf

Although Humans have no DPS-boosting racials, they do have a handy utility racial called ‘Every Man for Himself.’ This is a CC removal ability, just like the Undead. Their Sword Specialization and Mace Specialization will help increase your expertise by 3, making them a perfect choice if you are planning to switch to Combat. ‘Perception’ will passively increase your stealth detection, while ‘Diplomacy’ will increase your reputation.

Night Elves are known to be the sneakiest and most agile of all races. They have a higher base Agility stat compared to others, making them one of the strongest DPS races. They have the Quickness skill which reduces the chances of getting hit by 2%. Their Nature Resistance will reduce the chance of getting hit by nature spells, while you can use Shadowmeld to escape combat.

Horde: Troll or Orc

Ignoring their mellow appearance, Trolls are one of the strongest races for the Horde Assassination. Berserking is the strongest Horde racial, giving you a +20% increased attack speed. You also have ‘Best Slaying,’ which increases your damage dealt by 5% to Beast-type enemies. The Bow Specialization and Throwing Specialization will increase your crit chance. You can also regain health with Regeneration and reduce the duration of movement slowing and immobilizing effects with Da Voodoo Shuffle.

Orcs are considered to be one of the stronger choices overall, with several powerful racial effects to consider. For example, Blood Fury will increase your Attack power and scale with your level. Axe Specialization will increase your expertise by 5.

PvP Rogue

Alliance: Night Elf

Night Elves have some interesting racial effects that can aid your stealth mechanics, along with a couple of PvP racials. Shadowmeld can be used as a tool to remove your opponent’s target. This is arguably one of the strongest PvP abilities in the game. Elusiveness can highly enhance your Stealth capabilities, and it also affects Shadowmeld. Quickness is yet another racial effect worthy of mentioning, reducing the chance of your character getting hit by 2%. Nature Resistance can help fight Druids and Shamans.

Horde: Undead

Providing you with a strong racial effect, the Undead are a good choice for WoW PvP players. Will of the Forsaken is their powerful racial that acts as a trinket. It removes charm, fear, and sleep effects. On the other hand, you have Cannibalize, which is the most popular Undead trademark racial. It lets you feast on corpses to regenerate health points. Using Shadow Resistance in PvP lets you lower your chance of getting hit by Shadow spells. Plus, you also have the Underwater Breathing racial.

Lore Rogue

Alliance: Gnome

Also called the Gnomanity or Gnomefolk, the Gnomes are a race of highly intelligent and diminutive humanoids. They are known for their mastery of technology. Gnomes originate from mechagnomes who were affected by the Curse of Flesh. After finding their way to Khaz Modan, Gnomes were able to find the capital of Gnomeregan, becoming allies of nearby dwarven cousins.

They were in the capital for years, providing great tech support to the Alliance during the Second War. Their story is intriguingly fun, which is why they are a great choice for all lore enthusiasts.

Horde: Goblin

The Goblins, or Goblinhood, are tiny green humanoids coming from the Isle of Kezan. They love money, technology, and explosives and are considered a very dangerous race. They are a danger to both themselves and their enemies. Goblins are always looking for ways to get money, so they are often selling their services, knowledge, and contraptions. Some see them as troublemakers; others think they are unpredictable. This all contributes to their amazing lore!
