Warriors are one of the staple classes of World of Warcraft. They have been available in the game since the very beginning. Some of the coolest lore characters are Warriors, and throughout the years, they have stayed true to the “me strong – me smash” fantasy.
Everyone who has dreamed of playing a big beefy strong character who wields anything as their weapon and charges in for glory will immediately want to pick Warrior. Still, when it comes to picking the best races for each specialization and PvE and PvP, you might be surprised.

In PvP, Warriors will go DPS in most cases. However, in PvE, there are DPS Warriors and Tank Warriors. The race you pick might not have the biggest impact on the game but there are some key differences between DPS and Tanks.
We’d recommend speccing into Fury or Arms for an ideal DPS Warrior. To be honest, both of these share goals when it comes to stats and what you want to do as a DPS Warrior, which is to do damage. The patch doesn’t really matter here either, these specs are consistently the best for anyone wanting to build a DPS Warrior.
Mechagnome is the best race for an Alliance DPS Warrior. This race is just amazing for any class that wants prolonged fights, and PvE is what the fights are all about. Combat Analysis gives increasing stats the longer the fight goes, making it one of the best races in the game.
For Horde, Orcs are the best option, which is a tradition at this point. There are so many amazing bonuses that Orcs provide to the Warrior class, such as the large AP boost for 15 seconds through Blood Fury and Hardiness that reduces all stuns by 20%.

Unlike DPS warriors, Tanks in WoW are all about taking and negating damage. The best races here are the ones that provide damage reduction, which might hint at what the best races are.
Kul Tirans are by far the best Warrior Tanks out there. They have that regeneration in their passive that gives them back health based on the damage they took. On top of that, they got another racial quality that provides even more crowd control to the fight, which is great in Mythic+. They certainly occupy the top spot in any WoW tank tier list.
As for Horde, the best race is Highmountain Tauren, one of the newer playable races. Their passive Rugged Tenacity makes them exceptional at taking damage. Like Kul Tirans, they have an active ability that brings crowd control to the fight, which is fantastic for Mythic+ runs.
No matter which races you play in the game, if they are available to the two following races that we are going to mention, there are incredibly high odds that they are the best option.
Humans are the best PvP option for Alliance, as they just have that astonishing free PvP trinket that can remove any type of Crowd Control (CC). On top of that, there is an increase in secondary stats through The Human Spirit, which is a nice bonus. Any serious WoW PvP player will strongly consider Humans.

Orcs are the best race for the Horde when it comes to PvP Warriors. The reasons are kind of similar to the Alliance counterpart – reducing crowd control.
While Humans can cleanse it completely with a cooldown, Orcs have the Hardiness passive that reduces all stuns by 20%, which is very useful in PvP. Furthermore, they’ve got that Blood Fury, which gives them increased damage for 15 seconds, which is sometimes more than enough to turn the tides of battle.
While the options definitely matter when it comes to PvP, as CC reduction is essential if you want to climb the ranks in the Arena. Even in Rated Battlegrounds when it comes to PvE, the differences are quite minor, and you should play whatever you like, unless you are chasing those parses, of course.
