XDefiant Leak Reveals Future Factions, Maps, and Bundles

Earlier today, a series of images leaked online revealing upcoming content in XDefiant, an unreleased shooter from Ubisoft. In recent months, gamers the world over have been (mostly) patiently awaiting a release date for XDefiant, which has been postponed numerous times. On Twitter, a leaker posted a series of images that revealed four seasons’ worth of content, including factions, a battle pass model, maps, and some weapon challenges.

It’s a sizeable leak that has uncovered a lot of the roadmap for XDefiant, which rocketed in popularity last year following a hyper-successful beta test. More than one million players made their way into XDefiant’s ecosystem, which offers a unique shooter experience that sees all the factions made up of characters from Ubisoft’s line-up of games. Now, the future of these factions has been laid out for all to see on social media.

XDefiant Leaked, But Not Released

It was revealed that Rainbow Six Siege, Far Cry: New Dawn, Assassin’s Creed, and Ghost Recon will all have their time in the spotlight when XDefiant is finally released. They’ll each be headlining their respective season as a new core faction, and they’ll be introduced alongside new battle passes, cosmetics bundles, and weapons. That’s the stock-standard operating model for a free-to-play shooter, so it comes as no surprise that Ubisoft is relying on a paid season pass structure.

The XDefiant leaks also revealed a 50-tier battle pass that’s expected to retail for around $10, containing content from in-game weapons to boosts and skins. It’s the same way that every other shooter operates, from Call of Duty to Fortnite, and from Rainbow Six Siege to Apex Legends.

In the leaks posted on Twitter, some new content was revealed regarding maps. There was an image that showcased ‘Waterfront’, a Far Cry: New Dawn map rumoured to be released in Season 2 of XDefiant. There was also a reference made to a new, unseen map based on a ski resort. The leaker also uncovered a series of bundles, pre-order bonuses and price tags, and some upcoming weapons, challenges, and game modes.

It’s one of the biggest leaks in the XDefiant space and it has revealed a staggering amount. There are now no surprises from Ubisoft in terms of which faction will be introduced with each new season, which is a shame. Presently, fans are still waiting for news regarding the XDefiant release date. Mark Rubin, the game’s executive producer, should be giving an update in the coming days, so stay tuned to Esports.net.
