XDefiant Test Schedule Points To Summer 2024 Release Date

XDefiant will likely end up being a ‘make or break’ project when it’s finally released by Ubisoft. It has been in development for the last few years, emerging as a ‘Call of Duty competitor’ that performed well in an open beta phase last year. More than one million players found their way into XDefiant, and Ubisoft published roadmaps and promised that the game would be released by the end of the summer. That window came and went, and today, the game still hasn’t been released by Ubisoft.

That could be set to change. In a recent report, it was claimed that sources close to the project have referenced a Summer 2024 release date. This news came following the detailing of a ‘test schedule’ that kicks off on April 19. Presently, the team at Ubisoft is working hard to upgrade XDefiant and iron out teething issues before taking the game to market – which is now rumoured to be in the next two or three months.

It’s Still Coming

For the longest time, it seemed as though XDefiant would never surface as a fully released title. It has suffered immeasurably, being pushed back time and again by Ubisoft thanks to a slew of issues. According to a recent insider report, it was stressed that a testing phase is due to commence this week on April 19. It’ll run through the weekend, and if all is well, an ‘official announcement’ regarding a launch window should be made shortly after.

It’s believed that this is one of the final testing periods needed to count XDefiant as ready to release. If all goes well internally, we could have the XDefiant release date confirmed as early as next week. That’s a huge win for the prospective fans who have been eagerly awaiting the release of XDefiant for several months.

Before the announcement happens, Ubisoft will host another ‘Play Test Session’. This will see players invited to play XDefiant on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It was recently claimed that the past generation of consoles had their version of XDefiant cancelled – this is yet to be officially confirmed by Ubisoft, however. At this point, players are hungry for more information and will take everything they can get, but nothing should be taken as gospel until it’s confirmed by Ubisoft – and perhaps not even then.
