The Super Smash Bros. Melee community was shocked when they learned that Zain, the seemingly wholesome top player, had been banned from Twitch, especially after the FGC found out it was for exposing himself on stream. However, there’s been some confusion.

The Twitch streamer that was banned goes by Zain, but it was not top Melee pro Zain Naghmi. In fact, Zain (the Melee pro) even jokingly asked for the “Zain” account after the streamer was banned, since he’s been using the name ZainNaghmi instead on the streaming platform. The simplified “Zain” would be nice.

Can Zain (the Melee pro) sue Grok for confusing him with Zain (the exposed streamer)?

Tthe situation became even more confusing thanks to X’s AI, Grok.

When people expressed confusion over which Zain was banned, Grok stated: “Twitch Partner Zain, a Super Smash Bros. player known for Marth, received a permanent ban following inappropriate conduct during his stream, including exposing himself, after finishing 17th in a tournament and losing to RapMonster. The incident sparked backlash linked to his trash talk and behavior. Some initially confused him with Zain Naghmi, but the ban was confirmed for the Smash streamer Zain.”

Grok had clearly confused the two Zains even further, creating a strange mashup of information that made it seem as though there were two Melee Marth mains that both exposed themselves after losing to Rapmonster in a tournament.

Zain (the Melee pro) notoriously lost to up-and-comer RapMonster at Genesis X3, a shocking outcome, but he didn’t expose himself on stage. I was there. It was an epic moment with a shocking outcome, but definitely no weiners.

The Super Smash Bros. Melee community has started to wonder if Zain (the Melee pro) can sue Grok for the misinformation after he brought up the situation on stream. I mean, it basically made it sound like he was a sexual predator. At the time, he asked: “Can I sue Grok?”

The short answer is probably not. Grok has been getting away with a lot worse, with AI not really held accountable for gathering information, even when it gathers it incorrectly. However, it’s possible Zain (the Melee pro) can get it retracted.
