There is a new mid-season tournament for PUBG Mobile esports, and it will happen at the Saudi-government-backed Esports World Cup 2024. Replacing the World Invitational is the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2024, where 28 teams are set to battle it out in Riyadh from July 19 to 28 for a share of the $3 million prize pool.

What is the schedule?
The PMWC 2024 will happen from July 19 to 28 and is split into three stages:
- Group Stage: July 19 to 21
- Survival Stage: July 23 and 24
- Main Stage: July 26 to 28

Of the 28 teams competing in the PMWC 2024, four of them will directly advance to the Survival Stage. Thus, here’s the complete format of the PMWC 2024.
Group Stage
- The 24 teams from regional leagues around the world will be split into three even groups of eight teams each.
- They will compete across a series of matches from July 19 to 21 with the top 12 teams advancing to the Main Stage.
- The remaining 12 teams won’t face elimination, but will instead move to the Survival Stage for another shot at the Main Stage.
Survival Stage
- The bottom 12 teams from the Group Stage will meet the respective champions of the PMSL CSA, EMEA, Americas, and SEA.
- These 16 teams will then battle it out for the remaining four spots in the PMWC 2024 Main Stage.
- The 12 teams who remain will be eliminated from the tournament.
Main Stage
- Finally, the 12 teams from the Group Stage and four teams from the Survival Stage will meet in the PMWC 2024 Main Stage to crown the champions.

It’s unclear who the two special invites will be. In the past, the home team has usually received a direct invite to PUBG Mobile international esports events. Something similar could happen here as well.
