Want to know more about NetBet? Read our NetBet esports review

While not one of the big names in online sports betting, NetBet is certainly one to watch. NetBet has been owned by Cosmo Gaming Company Ltd since 2009 and has its headquarters in the gaming hub of Malta. As well as a traditional sportsbook, casino, and online poker room, NetBet offers the opportunity to bet on esports, with a whole host of CS:GO gambling and League of Legends betting markets available. Competitive odds on events such as the Dota 2 Pro Dota Cup, Global Starcraft 2 League, and the League of Legends Championship Series are all available on the NetBet desktop site and esports betting app. As well as ante-post odds, another area of this NetBet esports review in which this bookmaker scores highly is the live-betting offering. As you can tell, we like NetBet and believe it has much to offer esports betting fans. To find out more, keep reading, as we put this bookmaker through its paces to come up with a fair and impartial NetBet esports rating. In fact, our NetBet esports betting site review will look at a range of key areas to see if this is the best site to test out all those esports betting strategies!

Interface & Design

Good looking site with mobile optimised version and app

The NetBet desktop site works well and is easy on the eye. The design is simplistic and quite dramatic, with a black, white, grey and red colour scheme. The layout is clear, if a bit busy. One of our pet peeves is a site hiding esports away under the ‘other sports’ tab, and, unfortunately, NetBet is a culprit. In this case, esports is found between darts and futsal under the ‘all sports’ menu on the left-hand side of the screen. This doesn’t mean it’s not one of the better League of Legends and CS:GO betting sites, but it’s just a bit frustrating to have to search around. However, there is a useful search feature to help you quickly locate more obscure bets. Live-betting and betting highlights can be found in the centre of the page. NetBet also has a good mobile offering, with an optimised version of the main site, as well as apps for iOS and Android devices. As you’d expect, registering on the site is an easy process, with a form opening up into which you can input your details and also opt in to the mobile bonus (more on this in a moment!). You can also access the blog, promotions, and other useful information via a menu at the top of the screen.

Welcome Bonus

Enjoy a welcome bonus worth up to £50 and/or £10 for mobile betting

As well as a range of different markets, a NetBet esports betting bonus is available to new customers. This takes the form of a 50% matched deposit bonus for use on sports betting (with no apparent restriction on esports). In order to get the full NetBet bonus, you’d need to deposit £100. For those looking for an attractive welcome bonus to use on an in-depth CS:GO gambling site or a particular League of Legends market, NetBet’s offer is certainly up there. The bonus code, WELCOME50, has to be used on the cashier page after depositing, with odds of 1.60 or greater needed in order to activate the bonus.

As always, there are some sneaky T&Cs to bear in mind. These include a requirement to deposit your funds within 24 hours of entering the code. The playthrough requirement is six times (deposit and bonus). There is a second bonus available, which again appears to be available for esports. This is applicable to mobile betting only. It comes in the form of a £10 free bet on your first bet. Be aware that you need to opt in to activate the bonus. The odds of the bet must be at least 3/5. NetBet credits your account with the bonus within 24 hours of your bet being settled. Is this one of the best esports betting offers? To be honest, it’s pretty good. While there are 100% deposit match deposits out there, 50% can still give you a boost, providing you meet the wagering requirements. The mobile bonus is also a nice tempter for new players. Therefore, our NetBet esports review gives this bookmaker a decent rating for the welcome bonuses on offer.

Good range of payment options with no NetBet fees

Before you can bet on esports with NetBet, you need to deposit some funds! Fortunately, NetBet offers a wide range of methods to both deposit and withdraw money. Of course, you can use major debit or credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), as well as PayPal. You can also deposit via other e-wallets, though using Neteller or Skrill means you are ineligible to take advantage of the welcome bonus. Bank transfer is available, along with a range of less commonly used methods, such as Paysafecard, ecard, Euteller, Trustly, and InstaDebit. Withdrawal methods include Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, Bank Transfer, WebMoney, Qiwi and Moneta. It’s worth noting that as well as traditional currency, NetBet accepts the popular cryptocurrency, bitcoin. Another bonus that boosts our NetBet esports rating is that this bookmaker does not impose fees on any of its payment methods (charges might be incurred by payment providers). In terms of limits, the minimum deposit across the board is £10. The maximum ranges from £100 to unlimited. When it comes to withdrawals, again, no fees are attached. Processing time is between two and 12 days, with bank transfer taking the longest. Minimum withdrawals are £10 for all methods, with the maximum amount capped at £100,000 per month.

Esports Markets

Our NetBet esports review finds a good range of markets

While the likes of football, horse racing, tennis, basketball and American football are the main thrust of NetBet’s sportsbook, the esports options are pretty impressive, with all the major games covered. As might be expected, there are good CS:GO gambling and League of Legends betting options. Our esports betting games 2017 comparison also shows that Dota 2, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Starcraft 2 and World of Tanks are all readily available. With CS:GO betting sites among the most popular when it comes to esports gambling, backing teams such as SK Gaming and Outlaws often proves to be the most popular option.

review csgo
review league of legends

Customers are also able to back the likes of Astralis or Cloud9. With such successful teams often at short priced odds to win matches at CS:GO betting sites, backing them to produce comeback victories is one of the most enjoyable methods of betting. All in all, we have to say that NetBet has clearly embraced the emerging market of esports, bringing its customers a great range of options to choose from on a daily basis. So, even if you’re just looking for around for the best CS:GO betting sites, you’ll likely be impressed by all the other events on offer at NetBet.

Live Streaming

Good in-play at NetBet but no live streaming

In-play betting is another area in which NetBet scores highly. Current in-play events are displayed on the NetBet homepage, with the latest odds changing depending on the esports action taking place. Click on the green ‘live betting’ tab to see the full range, with events grouped by sport. NetBet focuses majorly on Asian Handicap betting, meaning that teams are handicapped according to their form. Although many CS:GO betting sites now offer in-play betting, NetBet’s depth of bets makes it an attractive platform. Despite their excellent in-play options, our NetBet esports rating suffers somewhat when it comes to live-streaming, with customers unable to view action alongside placing a bet. Although esports betting’s legal, the rights to show esports competitions and events is only likely to increase in cost, making the likelihood of an up and coming sportsbook such as NetBet offering live-action unlikely. Cash-out is available on certain bets, meaning you can cash out your bet before an event has finished. Overall, our NetBet esports betting site review is positive for in-play, even with the lack of live streaming. Until (or unless) this becomes a popular feature on sites that offer esports betting, it seems unfair to penalise a bookmaker for not showing esports live, especially when streaming is available on other online platforms.

Odds & Limits

Competitive odds
When it comes to odds, an esports odds comparison shows NetBet is again impressive. With a low betting margin, often as little as four percent, potential customers are not going to be short of choice for a bet. Of course, the odds on an individual esports match or event will depend on the form of each team/player, type of game and the predicted score, with teams such as Team Sprit, Stats and Unicorns of Love often offered short odds as a result of their past successes. From the League of Legends Pro League to the Dota 2 Asia Championships and from the Global Starcraft 2 League to the CS:GO Binary Dragons Cup, odds are available on events from Asia, Europe and the US. With the Las Vegas Dreamhack Series being the standout event for many esports fans, NetBet often offer enhanced odds for such competitions, providing the perfect opportunity to win big. So, whether you are looking to bet on esports within League of Legends betting, CS:GO gambling or other famous games, your likely to find something good at NetBet. Our NetBet esports betting site review is therefore happy to award a high rating for both odds and limits.

Betting limits at NetBet vary depending on the sport. Recreational customers are unlikely to be left disappointed, with limits rising into the thousands. A minimum bet of just 7p is available to customers within the UK. While other League of Legends and CS:GO betting sites may offer higher pay-outs, NetBet can still offer the chance to win big.

Customer Service

Top notch customer service from NetBet with live chat facility

There is a good range of customer service options at NetBet. You can contact the operator via email and telephone. Be aware that the service is not 24/7. In fact, the telephone lines have fairly odd hours of operation, from 12pm to 8pm. Of course, you can send an email at any time via the contact form, which is accessed via the ‘help centre’. We are also happy to report that live chat is available, from 9am to 11pm (all times are GMT+1). The operator also has a presence on Facebook and Twitter, so you can always message NetBet this way. Added to this is a really good FAQ section. Click on ‘help centre’ at the top-left of the screen and a pop-up menu appears. This offers a comprehensive list of sections that you can click on for assistance.

Live Chat

From payment methods to sports betting, if you have a query, it’s worth taking a look through the FAQs before contacting the customer support team, as there’s a good chance you’ll find the answer to your question. Overall, our NetBet esports review found no major flaws with the customer support options, either online or through the operator’s mobile app. Therefore, we are happy to give this operator a high rating in this area.

Security & Licensing

Is NetBet safe for online esports gambling?

Despite not being one of the leading names in the industry, NetBet was actually founded back in 2001. In recent years, the Malta-based operator has been working to improve its customer base. As well as merging with Poker770 in September 2014, NetBet is now the official sponsor of German handball team, VFL Gummersbach. All of this highlights that the operator is a stable and well-established presence on the sports betting scene. For added peace of mind, NetBet holds a licence from the UK Gambling Commission. When it comes to security, NetBet seems to maintain high standards, using encryption technology and taking other measures to protect sensitive data, including security patches and using Websecurity Transactions to handle online payments. As is standard among legitimate operators, there are clear privacy and fair play policies in place, both of which can be easily accessed via the ‘help centre’. The operator also takes steps to verify its customers’ ages and also to help users stay in control of their gambling. So, overall, is NetBet safe? We’d have to say ‘yes’! This is another area of our review in which we have found this operator to be punching above its weight.

Final Recommendations

NetBet: an underrated bookmaker with lots to offer esports fans

Overall, we’re happy to award a high NetBet esports rating, due to the quality of the bookmaker’s esports offering. In every category, we find NetBet holding its own against larger and more established operators. From the flexibility of payment options to the availability of esports markets, this site is clearly designed to be as user-friendly as possible. This is underlined by the customer support options that include a comprehensive and easy to navigate FAQ section. On top of this, the simplistic yet effective interface on both the desktop site and mobile app ensure that NetBet is only likely to gain a bigger share of the betting market, with the emphasis on esports opening up the operator to a whole new customer base. Negatives are few and far between, with only a lack of live streaming to mention at this time. Regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, you can be rest assured your money is in safe hands. So, if you’ve never heard of NetBet, or are dubious about wagering with a lesser-known bookie, we would recommend taking a look at the site and browsing the esports offering. We think you’ll be as impressed as we were!
