How to Reset Dungeons in Diablo 4 – The Quickest Way to Reset

to Dungeons have always been some of the best sources of loot in all the Diablo games. Outside zones would present certain challenges, but they could never capture that eerie feeling of venturing into a dark and mysterious cave with just a flicker of light guiding you forward, or visiting an abandoned tower and braving the horrors that lie within.

Much like the previous Diablo titles, Diablo 4 dungeons offer that same exact feeling, which is why players enjoy doing them so much. After a while, though, that magic gets lost and all you want to do is run the dungeon as fast as possible, over and over again. This is why some Diablo 4 players choose to reset their dungeons early to maximize the loot and experience they receive.

Diablo 4 – How to Reset Dungeon

Resetting dungeons is super easy to do now that Blizzard have reintroduced the Reset Dungeon button. This was a feature initially available during the beta phase of the game, but was mysteriously removed from the live game once it launched. Thankfully, the devs came to their senses and brought back the Reset Dungeon button in Season 1, in part thanks to the overwhelming complaints from the players.

Quick Ways to Reset

  1. Use the Reset Dungeon Button – This will automatically reset your dungeon and you can jump back in and clear the whole place again. You’ll find this button by opening your Diablo 4 map, clicking the Journal, and then pressing the Reset Dungeon button. However, this won’t work as long as you’re still inside the dungeon, so you must either port back to town or use the action wheel and select the Leave Dungeon option.
  2. Reset While in Group – Resetting a dungeon while in group works similarly, with a few extra steps. Your group members should first leave the party, in which case the game will automatically drop them in front of the dungeon. Once that’s done, your group leader will also leave, and can invite everyone back again.
  3. Sell Items and Reset – You’ll often find your inventory full after a few dungeon runs, in which case you’ll want to go back to town, sell and restock, then reset the dungeon and do another run. To do this, you’ll first use the Leave Dungeon option, open a teleport in front of the dungeon, sell all the items and stash the ones you want to keep, then port back using the same portal you came through earlier and enter the dungeon. At this point, the dungeon should be reset, but in case it’s not, simply exit and click Reset Dungeon again.

Why Would You Reset Dungeons?

Dungeons in Diablo 4 can be an awesome experience, but they can also be a real nightmare to deal with. You might get a dungeon layout you don’t like, the monsters inside might be too hard for your current power, and most often, resetting a certain dungeon could yield more experience and loot.

Certain Diablo 4 classes struggle with bosses, especially on higher difficulties where the damage and hp values are much higher. In these cases, players will often choose to complete a few dungeon objectives and leave, without even fighting the end boss. It might seem like an odd decision to players new to the genre, but this is often the way to go if you’re optimizing your experience per hour.
There could be many reasons why players would want to reset their dungeons in Diablo 4, which is why it’s important to know how to do it quickly and efficiently.

Enjoy the Game at Your Own Pace

While dungeon resets in Diablo 4 have become somewhat of a meta, not everyone will choose to follow it. Some players simply enjoy taking their time inside the dungeon, not rushing through, and picking up every single item in hopes of finding an upgrade. Yes, you’ll do less dungeons per hour, but that’s how you choose to play the game, and that’s perfectly fine.

Games like Diablo 4 attract all kinds of players who play the games in different ways. The main goal is to have fun, and if what you’re doing is fun to you, you’re doing it right.
