It might come as a surprise, but swapping weapons in Diablo 4 could not be more simple. You may find you need to swap weapons in the middle of a fight and you can do so without any trouble.

This is because the game switches the weapons manually depending on the skills that you are trying to use. For example, if you are firing a projectile while playing a Diablo 4 Rogue build, your character will switch to the crossbow. If you use some other abilities, they will swap to daggers.

While all classes switch weapons on their own, there is one class that does things a bit differently, and that is Barbarian.

How To Swap Weapons In Diablo 4 As A Barbarian

Something that Barbarians can do in Diablo 4 is equip up to four weapons at a time: two one-handed weapons and two dual-wielded weapons. Like other classes, a lot of Barbarian’s abilities are going to auto-switch weapons for certain skills, but you need to know how to swap weapons in Diablo 4 for specific skills that you can assign them to.

Swapping weapons on Barbarian is quite simple, actually, as all you have to do is:

Open the Skills Menu by pressing S (this is the default button).
Then, as you hover your mouse over a skill you are interested in changing, press the middle mouse button
You’ll be able to cycle through weapons that the skill can use.

There is some strategy involved in which weapon is equipped to which skill, and it’s not just for cosmetic purposes. You’ll have to adapt to different weapons in different situations, and you can even get an Aspect that gives you buffs on swapping weapons from the Defiled Catacomb dungeon, which is quite useful.
