Is Diablo 4 Cross-Platform?
Blizzard are taking things to the next level with the release of Diablo 4. They are truly innovating the genre by adding way more things into the usual hack ‘n’ slash gameplay loop, creating jaw-dropping visuals and animations, and also adding full cross-platform and cross-play into Diablo 4.
We’re living in the modern era of gaming where cross-platform is slowly becoming the norm, so seeing Diablo 4 fully embrace this new wave is a sign of hope for the future of the Diablo franchise. We’re definitely excited to give it a try!

Cross-Platform in Diablo 4
You’ll be happy to know that Diablo 4 is available on PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It features full cross-play and cross-progression functions.
If we compare Diablo 4 vs Diablo 3, we’ll notice that Diablo 4 is miles ahead in this regard. The previous installment didn’t feature cross-play in any shape or form, while Diablo 4 is launching with it. It’s sad it took us this long, but it’s finally here.
How does Cross-Platform work in Diablo 4?
In short, having cross-play and cross-progression in Diablo 4 will mean that not only can you play the game on multiple platforms such as PC and console, but your progression across all those platforms will be saved and synced.
You can enjoy your game from the comfort of your home on a PC and then decide to take a trip over the weekend and play the game on your PS5 while you’re away. This new technology allows you to play the game any way you want without fear of falling behind or losing any progress.
It also allows PC players to play with console players, and vice versa. This change alone will bring so many new players into the Sanctuary, many of whom never got the chance to try some of the best Diablo games before.
Cross-Progression Requirements
In order to benefit from Diablo 4 cross-progression, you’ll need to have a single Battle.net account. This is pretty self-explanatory, but we’re letting you know nonetheless.
You probably have a Battle.net account already in case you played some of the previous Blizzard titles, in which case you’ll simply log with your existing account on the platform you’re playing on.
Aside from cross-platform, Diablo 4 will also have Diablo 4 Couch Co Op for console users. This is just the icing on the cake and a very welcome change that allows two players to play the game on consoles in split screen. The devs have confirmed that as long as each player has a Battle.net account, they’ll be able to fully enjoy this new feature.
Creating a Battle.net Account

Enjoy Cross-Platform in Diablo 4 with your Friends
Now is the best time to reconnect with your old friends and enjoy Diablo 4 together. No matter which platform you’re on, you can all play together!
The great thing about cross-platform is that it gives you so many options. You can level alone when you want to, but team up when you feel like it. There’s no restrictions and it’s completely up to you how you want to experience your journey in Sanctuary. The multiplayer in Diablo 4 is on a whole different level this time, which is something many of us greatly appreciate.
We hope to see you in Sanctuary, stranger! Who knows, we may cross paths and share an adventure together now that cross-play in Diablo 4 is here.
