However, for those who are just joining the Diablo fan wagon, you probably have a lot of questions, especially considering the fact that there are high chances that you played some Diablo: Immortal as that is the last released game.

In short, Diablo 4 on release surprised pretty much everyone – both those who expected it to suck and those who expected it to be as good as the previous numbered titles. The game offers a lot of content that will take you hours to go through and a world that will take you days to fully explore. There are some features from Diablo 3, and some are added from Diablo: Immortal, along with new features that make Diablo 4 a fun, unique MMORPG hack-and-slash experience.

Diablo 4 Review

If you are curious about certain points of the game that will get you interested in giving it a try or dropping it without a second thought, then this review will certainly be helpful.

First steps

Like every Diablo game, it begins with players choosing the Diablo 4 class that they are going to begin their adventure. In Diablo 4, there are five different classes to choose from: Barbarian, Sorcerer, Rogue, Necromancer, and Druid. Depending on your playstyle, each class will change how you experience the game due to their designs, so make sure to take your time before you pick your class (even if you can make multiple characters).

The story

Something that fans of Diablo love about the game is that its story can be quite complicated, but at the same time, it can be as simple as you want it to be. That has been the case for all previous Diablo games, and Diablo 4 is not changing that formula.

If you want the story to be “Go kill big bad,” you can easily skip through all the dialog, avoid reading any texts that you find throughout your playthrough, and just enjoy the gameplay and bring havoc to your enemies. However, if you care about the lore, you will be happy to discover that the game is full of astonishing cutscenes, and many texts to explore throughout the game, and you will learn everything you want about Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto.

Gameplay

While the story is amazing in Diablo 4, the bread and butter of the game has to be the gameplay. No matter which class you end up choosing for your first playthrough of the game, you are going to have a blast. All classes are designed incredibly well, and while there are some imbalances where certain classes (Necromancer) can just plow through some content without breaking a sweat, the balance is quite good.

All of the visuals that your character creates as it casts spells and uses weapons to slaughter the infernal forces are beautiful to look at, and the better you become at using your abilities, the more fun it is to watch them in action. There is really no better game when it comes to hack-and-slash gameplay than Diablo 4.

Multiplayer interaction

Considering that the game is online-only multiplayer, you will not be able to play it while you are on the go without an internet connection. This also means that you will not be able to do some of those cheeky quick save / quick load strats before you try some risky pulls like you could in Diablo 3’s offline mode.

Couch co-op for consoles

While PC does not have Diablo 4 split-screen co-op, if you happen to have an Xbox or PlayStation, do not hesitate to bring a friend into your Diablo 4 adventures, as split-screen is done quite well.
