BESTIA qualify for Thunderpick World Championship 2024

The idea that anyone can beat anyone is central to competitive Counter-Strike. That’s what has made the South American qualifiers for the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 so compelling – the favorites haven’t always come out on top.
This time around, it was BESTIA who beat favorites Fluxo in the most unlikely of matches. Read on to see how they did it.

In our review of the Thunderpick WC 2024 SA qualifiers Semi-Finals, we noted that BESTIA shouldn’t really have a chance against Fluxo. But hey, what do we know? As things transpired, BESTIA were able to take full control of the series, taking Fluxo’s map pick in a competitive 13:9 before producing a dominating Dust2 13:3 performance to close it out. It was an awesome display from the majority Argentinian team, who really shined on their T-sides to leave Fluxo flummoxed.
For BESTIA, the win condition pretty much remained the same as yesterday’s matches. Both zock and tomaszin, who played a starring role previously against RED Canids, showed up once again. However, it was luchov who really stepped it up in the Grand Final of this SA qualifier, top-fragging on both maps to ensure victory for BESTIA.

While naturally, plenty of praise will go to BESTIA for winning this match, but Fluxo definitely lost it in their own right. Take arT, for example. In the match against paiN, he scored 39 kills across two maps. Here, he managed just 12. You can find similar stat lines for both nicks and zevy, too, both having spectacular fall-offs right at the final hurdle.
BESTIA now become the fifth team qualified for the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 so far. In October this year, a total of 16 teams will take to the server, competing for the lion’s share of a $850,000 prize pool. Last year’s event was won by FaZe Clan – will a similarly prestigious roster win it next time out? Stay tuned to find out.
