The Playoffs of the CCT Global Finals 2024 are underway, with one of the biggest online CS2 tournaments of the year hosting some of the best teams from around the world. We’re taking a look at the key points from the Quarter-Finals, as it happened on the server.

Astralis reverse-sweep Aurora

This was a series that threatened to go awry in the CCT Global Finals 2024. Astralis, after going a map down to Aurora, looked vulnerable and not at their best. Maps two and three told a different story, with Astralis showing mental resilience to take control of proceedings, and securing themselves a Semi-Final berth. Ancient and Nuke were 13:6 and 13:2 respectively, meaning this never really felt like a contest once Astralis got into gear.

This was a standout series for both jabbi and dev1ce, who continues to excel in his new role of AWPing IGL. However, we got another worrying look at Playoffs stavn, who notoriously takes a big dip in form when making deep runs in tournaments. He’ll want to forget about this performance and try again in tomorrow’s huge match against Liquid.

Liquid make short work of ENCE

Liquid‘s match against ENCE wasn’t quite as cagey as Astralis’. Every member of cadiaN‘s team had no intention of playing around here, easing a swift 2:0 in a series that saw ENCE take just 12 rounds across both maps combined.

It’s hard to choose a standout individual from Liquid for this series. Everyone played their part, aided by an ENCE who, frankly, struggled to do the basics right. This was a positive return to form for YEKINDAR though, who has come in for plenty of criticism of late. Can he keep it up? Who knows – but it might just save his place on the team, if he does.
