The Group Stage
The group stage is where we’ll see the majority of matches during the Masters Marseille 2018 tournament. Whilst these matches will be best of ones, which are slightly riskier to bet on than best of threes, they’ll still present themselves as an opportunity to make small, smart bets.
Below, we’ve given some advice for betting on each of the four groups during the group stage.
DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 – Group A
Group A will consist of Cloud9, EnVyUs, FaZe, and G2. Things will kick off with Cloud9 going up against G2. Things could go either way, but we’re expecting G2 to have the upper hand – they’ve performed reasonably well recently, and Cloud9 is in a bit of a mess after their recent roster change.
We then have EnVyUs and FaZe. This should be an easy match for FaZe – we doubt they’ll lose against EnVyUs. For other matchups in this group, expect FaZe to come up on top against all teams, but they may struggle against G2.
DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 – Group B
Group B will consist of Mousesports, NiP, SK, and Valiance. NiP and SK will be the first matchup within this group. We think this will be one of the most unpredictable games to watch. It would make sense that NiP could come out on top due to SK’s recent roster changes, but they’ve clearly been training a lot since Stewie2K has joined the team. The Valiance vs Mousesports game will be far easier to predict. Mousesports should easily come up on top.
Throughout group B, expect Mousesports to be the top performing team, unless SK can come in with surprise results.
DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 – Group C
Group C is a pretty stacked affair for both fnatic and Na’Vi. fnatic will start by going up against TyLoo – the Chinese team has fought their way into many big events recently, but they’ve yet to get any good results. fnatic on the other hand has been on fire lately.
Na’Vi has struggled, but S1mple and company should easily fight their way through a matchup against Renegades. We expect fnatic to come out on top during this group, but Na’Vi may be slightly further behind if their whole team can come together to perform well.
DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 – Group D
Finally, we have Group D with Astralis, Gambit, Liquid, and Space Soldiers. This will be the most exciting group throughout the event and we’ll some very close matches across the board. I wouldn’t advise making a bet on any of these games because quite frankly they could go either way.
Both Space Soldiers and Liquid have been performing very well recently, almost out of nowhere, whereas Gambit and Astralis are struggling a little. With that being said, both Astralis and Gambit have been very successful in the past and they certainly have it in them to show up again for an event like DreamHack Masters Marseille.
