Bruno: Congrats on the win.
How does it feel to be in the Grand Final again after the criticism you faced after the Major?
jL: I don’t really care what other people say. Was it a fluke? Was it a one-time tournament? We won the Major. We were the best team at the Major, hence why we won it, it doesn’t matter the bracket.
We played the winner that beat Spirit, Vitality. We beat FaZe fair and square. Some people are saying it was a fluke Major or whatever. We were the best team at that time, maybe we’re not the best team now but look at us. We’re in the Grand Final and where’s the rest of the teams? Vitality is out, FaZe is out.
Bruno: You started off very well on Anubis against VP.
How much preparation went into that map?
jL: It was a lot of preparation mate. We knew how they play, we knew how to counter them, and of course, we were fired up. We just kept the ball rolling. We snowballed them in a way, and the CT was just… it’s a hard side to play. We lost the pistol, so of course we’re gonna lose a lot of rounds. We only lost one full buy and then we won on Anubis.
Bruno: You came in very hot, but a lot of teams say that going straight to the semis is often a disadvantage because the quarter-final teams get to warm up in the arena.
Do you share that opinion?
jL: No, I don’t. I don’t care. Quarter-final, semi-final, Grand Final – it’s still a stage game, you’re still gonna have nerves, pressure. No matter how many times you’ve played before, you’re still gonna feel the same emotions. Maybe not as enhanced but it’s still a stage game.
Lastly, what do you think about the new BLAST format in 2025, the Bounty and so? Do you think it’s a good innovation?
jL: I feel like it’s an interesting idea as far as I’ve heard. I don’t know in complete detail how it looks. It looks cool for now and I’ll have to look into it more. I’m just a bit too focused on the CS.
Bruno: Thank you and good luck.
