Leshrac Abilities Explained

Split Earth

Stuns units for 2 seconds in a 150/175/200/225 radius area and deals 120/180/240/300 damage to them.

Diabolic Edict

Creates a multitude of magical explosions around you. Each of them deals 9/18/27/36 physical damage to nearby units and structures. Buildings take 40% more damage than units. A total of 40 explosions are created over period of 10 seconds.

Lightning Storm

Summons a lightning storm that hits an initial target and then jumps from unit to unit for up to 4/6/8/10 times. Each unit can only be hit once and the jump distance is 475. Affected targets take 50/100/150/200 magical damage and are slowed by 75% for 0.7/0.8/0.9/1 seconds.

Pulse Nova

Deals 100/140/180 magical damage per second to all units in a 450 radius area around you. Costs 70/90/110 mana to activate and an additional 20/40/60 mana per second. Can be upgraded with an Aghanim’s Scepter, but the effect is not worth the item’s cost.

Best Leshrac Talents

  • +5 armor / +250 mana – The mana bonus is almost always better.
  • +15 strength / +40 movement speed – Against melee heroes and lineups that don’t have an easy way of getting close to you, the second talent will actually make you harder to kill than the first. But in most situations you’ll have to take the strength bonus.
  • +25% evasion / +50 Pulse Nova damage – Only take the first option if you really need better survivability against physical damage. Otherwise take the second.
  • +50 Diabolic Edict explosions / +3s Lightning Storm slow – Both of these talents are extremely powerful. Take the second one if you need to be able to kite your opponents more easily. Otherwise take the first.

Skill build

When playing Leshrac, you should start with a point in Split Earth, followed by a point in Lightning Storm and then another one in Split Earth. At level 7 your skill build should be 4-1-1-1. Afterwards you should maximize Lightning Storm and Diabolic Edict in any order you see fit, putting points in your ultimate ability and taking talents whenever you can. This build will help you push Dota 2 ranks faster.

When to pick the hero

Thanks to his AoE magical damage, Leshrac is very strong against illusion based heroes. He’s also good against lineups that have excellent mechanisms for dealing with physical damage, but are defenseless against magical damage. Example: Phantom Assassin, Troll Warlord.

Versatile Midlaner

Leshrac is a versatile midlaner, being capable of farming quickly, dealing a lot of damage to enemy heroes, destroying buildings with ease and fast pushing. He has great mobility, does well in the laning phase against most midlane heroes, and can be played in a variety of ways: ganker, split pusher etc.
